Quick question, to some of the older gamers here (if you can remember).

What are/were your favorite Duke 3D maps to DukeMatch on? Which maps had you playing for hours on end, week after week?

1. L.A Rumble - My father and I love that level. We ended up playing for about six hours one night.

my top 3:

- Hollywood Holocaust - obvious choice, great layout & design
- STADIUM - nowhere to hide, jetpacks, blimp with goodies, insane speed

- Raw Meat - teleports, layout, microphone (shouting BOORN TO BEE WAAAILD! never gets old)

Hollywood Holocaust and Freeway; both open, realistic city maps with plenty of interesting things around. And ofcourse because Freeway has battlelords (dm with monsters on the highest setting = awesome).

I would be surprised if remaking Duke 3D maps in DNF wasn't allowed.

1) LA Rumble
2) Hollywood Holocaust

After a while that's pretty much all we played, regardless of how many people were in the match.

Spin Cycle, Flood Zone, and Teir Drops were always fun ones to mix in from time to time.

Duke Burger, LA Rumble and Hollywood Holocaust were the ones I remember playing the most on. But also Red Light District, Death Row, Lunar Reactor and Hotel Hell would sometimes get playtime as well.

Nah. That doesn't make sense. If 3DR were to put Duke3d up on live it will have all levels for DM, I'm sure. Just like doom. All levels are DM in Duke3d so taking some levels out wouldn't make sense to me

Well clearly you know the same reason as I do, I was in the magazine/post shop today and saw in a PCGamer? (I think) a review about Duke3D and it had a some stuff about the HRP. It was a 4 page review IRC.

Why not the first level and maybe the prison place, I have played and completed the Playstation version. I think the duke nukem ps time to kill & land of the babes had good two player but only on console with two control pads. how about a western type thing, really liked the PS music.

That sounds about my list too George as well as the grocery store one...whatever it was called LOL

My friends and I more did co-op than Dukematch though so I enjoyed all the levels with'em fyi...

But I liked Overlord the most.

Also cant forget User Map

most people dont know it exists, talk about a cramped match.

My list would be:

Overlord - Covert action that can kill.
Red light district - A classic map, rush people and catch them of guard
Hotel hell - Very good level flow
La Rumble - Large action close to an area that you can regain stuff, vertically built.
and Farenheit - Good, nonlinear level

One thing to notice is that theese levels are non-linear.

For unofficial levels:

Lagoon - Large isolated island
TeamwarF - 2 Team war, watch out for the buttons of death
Karnage7 - Small level with a lot of carnage
KaliUFO - City with a lot of secrets and a UFO
and WWAR5000 - Map that has the most secrets you will ever find in a map, so far I've found 96 secret areas.

Most of the secrets in WWAR are behind 1 sided masked walls... There are also a few switch operated ones.

Please dont "DNSHOWMAP" this map, it ruins the fun in exploration.

the "Kali" maps inclided (Like KaliUFO) also have many secrets.
