Duke3d Xbox LIVE customiseable?
hey guys,
I dont post very often here, but some of you know me and can guess what I'm planing when asking this question:

In what degree would be Duke3d Xbox LIVE customiseable? Will you use your (well known) con syntax for various game mechanics? Or will you hardcode everything?

I see a little comeback for user made TCs for Duke3d if mapping / coding etc. is as modding friendly as the old PC version(s).

Im already planning to buy an Xbox LIVE. Not only because of the possibility to play duke3d online (which seems like a dream to me), also because of other nice games

And as usual when I play a game for a while the idea of modding is coming up quite fast for me

because microsoft is monitoring and not allowing "unlicensed software" to be run online?

They have very strict limitations on users sharing content. Something like Duke 3D's clip system or Far Cry 2's map editor is fine, as they have a pre-set limitation on what the user can do. If you give the users the ability to mod, they could create potentially "harmful" mods and put them up on the service.

Stupid I know, but it makes sense and it's their system.

I was never playing on a Xbox LIVE, so I dont know

but at least user maps would be nice, it would be just great if you could play
new or already existing user maps

Modding games for Xbox Live goes under the tampering policy for Microsoft, and it's a very very strict policy. If they find out you've moddded the system or game in anyway, they will suspend your XBL privileges or even revoke them all together. As Bloodwolf806 stated, it kind of sucks, but it keeps everyone safe.
