New favorite video game moment (spoiler)
I think we all have those favorite moments that we remember from our favorite games... fighting the Cyberdemon at the end of the Doom shareware demo, finally assembling your uber-weapon in Hexen, shrinking your first monster with the shrink ray in DN3D... but I've got a new favorite.

Spoiler:

Kudos to HH and 3DR for that amazing moment that I'll remember for a long time to come.

Yeah, that was a great idea. It just echoed what most of us were screaming in our heads (or out loud) anyway. It really did make you fight more aggressively aswell, I got really riled up when Tommy started shouting like that and went ballistic on their sorry alien asses.

For me though my new favourite videogame moment is the section where you come out of the little shuttle dock into that enormous open space with the first huge asteroid you come across in the middle of it. The sweeping majestic music score and the sense of scale in that bit gave me goosebumps, and no game has given me goosbumps for years.

Yeah, that was amazing. I actually felt the same way Tommy did there. I just ran around shooting madly. I died about 10 times

I agree - my fav part of the game. I didn't die as much as I thought I would though. It was the part of the game where it felt like a typical shooter set on hard mode, but it feels different - cuz you have that anger ("those alien bastard just f*ed up my girl!") and the fact that Tommy was also reflecting it via voice acting was very very cool. The amount of ammo and health around made you feel pretty invincible (as in avoiding a deathwalk).

The end of Half Life 2 was like that for me - I was just tearin' crap off the walls and throwing it at everyone (or throwing everyone at the crap on the walls) while I marched right up to Breen.

I felt quite sad at that point. It is always a shame when someone resorts to violence to solve their problems, even as a last resort.

I was absolutely riveted.

That is my favorite moment of any game. Thank you for bringing this up, i love this moment, even better than a movie(emotionally). Loved it.

Someone should make a Prey Movie. It would be so much better than the Doom movie and probably the Halo movie. And even if I was Tommy, it couldn't be worse than Pacman the series.

Yeah... but it works because I say f*ck a lot as well. So I felt really drawn into the game, like Tommy was saying what I was thinking.

Agreed, that was my favorite part of the whole game. I thought it'd be more effective to get the Sun Beam there instead of earlier on, though.
