Stairs!
I while ago I checked some FAQ for UnrealEd (the UT2k4 version, I think it's UnrealED 3.0 (?)), but I ditched the whole "I'm gonna use UED" idea because.. I couldn't make stairs, because it wasn't properly explained in the FAQ. I could position it right and give it the correct properties and stuff, but it didn't appear in the 3D-o-vision ().

So now I'm just gonna ask it here - How to get those stairs to show up?

Re: Stairs!
rebuild the geometry with the rebuild buttons on top in the editor. that should make any new geometry show up

Re: Stairs!
Silly question but can you build a box and get it to show up?
What some people who are familiar with 3D packages miss is that UED is a giant chunk of lead that you must first carve stuff out of. so adding stairs as an "addative" brush won't do much until you cut a hole in the world to put the stairs into.

Re: Stairs!
Yeah I can build a box, give it textures and align stuff - no problem

Re: Stairs!
So now that I'm learning UED again I'm still having trouble with the stairs. Namely, I can't get the textures on. The builder brush (or whatever it's called) is yellow instead of red.. So urh, how do I get a texture on there?

Re: Stairs!
So you opened the stair tool/options, moved the builder brush to where you wanted, and ADDED it? It sounds like you've SUBTRACTED it?

Re: Stairs!
could be, yellow lines are for substracted geomitrie and blue for added, stairs should generally be blue.

i prefer to make stairs from static meshes though, more flexibility in a way, that, and i never could use the stair builder brush propperly
