Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Back when I was considering applying to 3DR (I didn't because I still have school), I had a dream that I had just gotten hired there and that the very first thing they did was have me try out DNF. It was great. And when I woke up, I had never felt so gypped in my life.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Its always so very dissappointing when your dream is better then your life.
When I was a youngin' I used to pretend to be nukem. So I suppose if my imagination counts i've had many a dream involving that game and character.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Never had any dreams even if I played Duke3D for a couple of years back in the 90's. However, I had some psychotic hallucinations once, when I was awake.
I had contact with ET intelligence from Sirius, and they beamed a powerful energy shield around me, that turnrf me into Mr. Nukem in a non-material way. It felt very comfy. I then made me a couple of sandwiches with Melange-margarine and I could fold the web of space-time and travel to another galaxy via the vacuum. I travelled with the speed of light, surrounded by stars. And the Duke Nukem forcefield was the vacuum, the environmental protection from space radiation. It protected me from swelling and ebullism and go Pang! Like a flight suit. Actually, it was a dream, but a "Lucid" dream. I was just goofing around in bed one early sunday morning. Tend to get those will-powered clear dream-states in between dream and awake then. If I am lucky. I miss the Duke. But it's good to know out he's on his way within my lifetime. I hope I won't self-combust or explode to soon. Or Texas gets invaded by a giantic Alien Sphere that sucks the 3DR office into oblivion and turn the game into a fishy soup of dark-matter protons in thermonuclear equilibrium... Until then, I can only Prey

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
OMG OMG OMG! I had a dream today! And it was a dream 'bout DNF!
I was one of the very few beta testers. We were playing Deathmatch. The game looked similar to Call of Cthulhu i.e. blurry like graphics, no interface. What's more, I was using a gun that acted like Painkiller's stake gun. LOL. But the best part was that when one guy discovered a cache of explosives, everyone would attach them to walls. After a few secs the bomb exploded resulting in a completely blown wall!!!! We could make holes in the floor, ceilings, walls! After a few minutes everything was looking worse than sweese cheese! LOL. Then George sent me an e-mail and I was about to read it when my mom woke me up to get ready to go to school |

Last night i dreamt about DNF. It was a Nightmare!
Last night i dreamt about DNF.
It started in the roof of a building, in Las vegas. Most of the textures were the same as Duke3D (maybe those are to be placed), and the first weapon were the hands.. They just looked very poly, and boxy.. Then i dont remember that much, but i do remember a lot of the textures were missing, and when i switched to the RPG, the weapon looked the exact same as in duke 3d (Still a sprite model), but with some kind of extender in the edge. And the you looked around you could see a lot more of the weapon, almost the whole way down to your arm.. The i tried the scene where you can write on a computer and send an email.. The hans still looked boxy, As in the 2001 trailer.. But well.. I know it was only a dream,. I had a few amazing dreams about DNF before, but this was the first nightmare.. I hope the next dream will be a good one

I had a dream...
I had a dream that I woke up and went to this site and saw on the main page... "D-DAY". Showed like 6 screenshots, but man... hopefully that was deja-vu I don't remember what the screenshots looked liked, but everyone was talking about them being incredible and it was on Gamespot.com as the biggest news article.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Dreaming of DNF ?! No I dont want to dream "forever". I would rather dream of Quake 5 , Unreal 3 or Painkiller 2, which if and when announced will eventually be released some day .
With my full conciousness, and when I am awake, I only dream of getting enough money so that I can build a complete new PC with a 26" LCD display and a DX 10 compatible video card that can handle Crysis, Quake 5, Unreal 3 and Painkiller 2 in Windows Vista . And the only dreams I dream of while asleep, I cant write them here, are not related to computer games ! |

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I dont dream but i always get the "Grabbag" song stuck in my head when i think of anything Duke Nukem. Maybe because how much i liked Duke Nukem 3D when i first got it. I played it a lot and i still do. I even converted the Lee Jackson grabbag cd audio track of the atomic CD into a 320kbs MP3 for my MP3 player

I had a wierd dream.
I just rememeber it. It was last night or within the past few nights. It consisted of myself some people who must have been 3DR staff and a few other people. We were in some place.. like a private lounge or a basement or some place where people privately hangout. I don't know why I was there nor remember what we were doing, but they told us Duke nukem was ready for shipment.
I find this dream odd and don't understand why I had it because DNF is in the back of my mind. I lost all enthusiasm several years ago. Must have surfaced because I've been visiting the DNF board recently. |

Re: I had a wierd dream.
3DR's hype campaign for DNF is beginning with psychic messages inserted into people's dreams. Once the game is closer to completion, 3DR will begin launching full-scale telepathy on weak-minded Americans during waking hours. Canada will follow a day later, and Europe a few days after that. Once DNF goes gold, 3DR will really get the machine rolling and begin to telepathically enslave the more strong-minded people. This, combined with a juicy ad campaign to run during Lost Season 3 will ensure Duke's success in the PC market.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
I had another DNF dream last night (blargh). It started with a bunch of forum members getting invited to the 3DR building. We sat down in front of an old looking TV and somebody put a videotape into a VCR--it was the official trailer for the latest build of DNF. It started with Duke in an apartment, and the graphics were awful. I mean, disproportioned, blurry, everything looked kinda blobby. Then as Duke got up and started to head out, the graphics started to sharpen and get better, but they never escalated above disappointing.
"Yeah, we're still working on adding shaders and stuff, so the final game's gonna look better than this," said one of the developers. We were then shown a big outdoor desert area that was empty, aside from a few wire-frame towers extending up into the sky. Looking up, you could see lots of platforms up in the sky that were being held up by these towers. "You'll get to go up there later on in the game, and if you fall off you'll be in this level again," remarked the developer. We then got a playable demo of one room. The room had marble walls and ceiling, a few plants in the corner, and was lit entirely by torches. I decided I wanted to try out the Interactivity, so I walked over to a small tree in the corner and hit the 'use' key. Duke reached out and snapped the tree out of the pot it was growing in. I now held a small tree that could be swung as a melee weapon. I walked over to one of the torches and swung the tree at it--and the tree caught on fire. I then looked down at the floor and swung the burning tree at it, and the floor caught on fire as well. Using Duke's mighty boot (which was impressively attached to the rest of his body model), I managed to stomp out part of the fire. I then found a fire extinguisher, picked it up and used it to put out the rest of the fire. Then my dream completely shifted gear to another subject for the remaining duration. Funny thing is, whenever I dream of DNF, it always has bad graphics and starts out as a third person shooter. Maybe subconsciously, I have a fear that the game won't live up to everyone's expectations.

Re: Who dreams of DNF?
Well I dreamt DNF the other night after listening toDuke Remix (very good, should use it for the end credits i think). My dream was basically to cut it short, A counter clock in Time Square counting down from 7 days to zero then 3Drealms showing off some screenshots and a 1 minute ingame trailer, it looked awesome, the whole gaming community just standing there in amazment with time square in chaos with gridlocks and a big gaming party. Pretty simple dream but it was so real. I think it would be a good idea though, what do u think?
