Who dreams of DNF?
Just an innocent question here, how many of you have had a dream about playing DNF? I know I'm not the only one.

It's kinda creepy, but I've dreamed of DNF five or six times.
The only time I've dreamed of a game before was Daikatana.

I often dream of just games in general.

[ Ie; I'm running around a room with a gun, and suddenly I need a different gun, so I'm checking my pockets for a keyboard to change weapons! ]

but the other day was the first and only time I dreamt of a specific game

I've dreamed of DNF twice - sorry to say that both times the game kinda sucked...or at least, I was terribly dissapointed. Weird, cause I'm really not expecting that...so maybe it was just more of a nightmare

I dream of a lot of shit, but I haven't dreamed of DNF yet.

btw. excuse my silly question, I'm german, but is it "dreamed of" or "dreamed about" ???

In german we say "getraeumt von". That's "dreamed from" in english.

"dreamed of" and "dreamt of" are both correct, however a dream, as a noun, can be about/of/regarding something.

So we're all correct!

Thanks for the link. I have figured it out now.

It's "dreamed of" and "dreamed about". Both versions are possible in english.

But does anyone know where the difference is? The dictionary doesn't say anything about it.

to dream, dreamt, dreamed

I have looked it up.

So it's "I have dreamed" (=past perfect) and "I dreamt" (=simple past).

there's no real difference, they both mean the same. It sounds more correct to say about.

the way I understand it is, we dream OF people, or places and dream ABOUT things/items.

English doesn't make a lot of sense.

well, i just looked it up, too. it says the forms are "dream, dreamt, dreamt". like i said.

maybe you can use both variants or the difference exists between british and american english.

I thought the same. You could be right.

In German it is similar. The common version is "traeumen von etwas oder jemandem" (=dreaming about/of something/someone). Another uncommon version is "traeumen ueber etwas, eine Sache" (=dreaming about something, a topic).

Examples:

"Ich traeume ueber den Tod einer Person." (="I dream about the dying/death of a person.")

"Ich traeume vom Tod einer Person." (same as above)

"Ich traeume von Dir." (="I dream of you.")

Quote:

Heh. Yeah, in English there are lots of words which mean the same when you translate them into German, but which have a slightly different sense.

Sweet.

Sorry, but whenever I hear the word "elephants" I have to think about little elephants made of porcelain.. Elephants are so cute, aren't they.

(ofcourse not when they are several feet tall and want to crush you)

Nope, never dreamt of DNF. I rarely dream about video games, although I did once dream about the Jet Li game. And last night I dreamt I was playing TES4:Oblivion. It was pretty good, the graphics weren't too bad. The physics were the best part about the game, I hit a chandelier and it hit some girl in the back. And a knight kept throwing javelins at me.

hmmm...

I once had a dream about DNF. it was pretty cool, but it was only an early build and some interactive elements had no sound. But there was some plot line in the dream and it involved babes and general graves actually being holographic projecting death-bots....

Pretty cool as i remember.... the post might still be on here somewhere....
