You can be optimistic all you want SpinX . But theres a fine line between that and being delusional.

Fact is, DNF is still a WHILE from ever reaching a gold anouncement. Despite the concept art, models, and footage released from the 3DR fallout, there is still a lot that needs to be done to the game itself and the staff who need to work on the game.

Uhh, no, I am just saying he was correct in his prediction in how long the suit would last. 1 year is not that long at all, considering the other lawsuit I mentioned in this thread has been going on for 7 years(and there still are avenues for appeal).

You said D-Day was coming on June 6th, stating DNF would be at E3... saying Gearbox was working on DNF...

You never once posted anything about the lawsuit being settled.

And remember, lawsuit settled... 3DRealms let go of their development team. The suit being settled is awesome news, but it doesn't mean anything just yet.

I actually saw the news first. I hope they actually get something done now. DNF as we know will never be released, as we all know the entirely storyline and gameplay segments of the game, what's most likely to happen is that they'll start working on a new Duke game and re-use a lot of the assets like the artworks, props, models, engine, soundtrack, sound effects and such. I predict we'll see a new Duke game in one year from now or so, that is, if they actually start working on something RIGHT NOW, which won't happen, of course.

I don't think that the hopes of me, jobi and kaiser are so delusional...

There must be a reason for settlement, I can't beleive that take2 would settle for a game that has no development team and has been laying still for a full year without gaining IP rights... it wouldn't make sense...

So I think, radar/3drealms did some things to gain some funds (prey 2 Ip, stopping other productions) and have let an other studio work on DNF, they are almost complete and showed it to take2 to persuade them for marketing or extra funds, game will have market potential, hence the settlement...

anyway that is my opinion and I don't think it looks desperate or delusional... if so, I think its time to leave these forums if I can't be optimistic or hope for things without being flamed at...

The May 14 "coinscidence" is rather interesting. Either Scott cracked the jackpot with his prediction or the "it was a hoax" guys were right!

While we don't exactly know what took place behind the scenes with the lawsuit settlement, you have to remember this was about Duke Nukem Forever.

The following is speculation(not fact)for those who need it pointed out to them:

-If both parties settled and agreed not to go into any further litigation, then Duke Nukem Forever is very much alive. 3drealms has repeatedly stated the game was not scrapped anyways.

-I would think Take 2 has some type of agreement with 3dr that they will finish Duke Nukem Forever. Either with the small group of 3dr employees now or outsourced.

-3dr managed to cut some type of deal with an external development team to finish Duke Nukem Forever. This deal may have involved the third party finishing the title without up front payment but an agreed upon amount once the game is released/completed. 3dr then approached Take 2 with this information and settlement talks began.

-Developers that may be helping with Duke Nukem Forever: Gearbox, Epic, id, Valve, Respawn, Humanhead

-Take 2 may have agreed to the additional funding 3drealms originally requested with a solid agreement on when Take 2 recieves the completed game. This would be sad though as this caused the internal team to be let go.

-3dr may have had a strong argument with Take 2 about that supposed 2012 delivery date for the game. I doubt this though.

-Take 2 and 3drealms will give us an update on the game at this year's E3 show.
