when i put my prey dvd in 2 the drive instead of seeing the prey icon in the drive i can c wot looks like a pieace of paper with coloured dots on it and the corner turned over wot does this mean

hey mine does that too! it dosent really show the prey icon it comes up with a white sheet of paper with some red green dots n stuff!

That just means someone made an error in the autorun.ini while setting the icon. It's no big deal.

Yea mine shows the white paper in explore. Game will load onto PC fine. When I hit to play goes for about 10 seconds then just comes up with the "Windows has encountered a problem screen"

. Seems to be lots of the same or similar problems on this forum but nothing I've tried from any of them work. I recently had the same issue with FEAR. I played the game, then removed. Couple of months later i reloaded and now wont play windows error etc as above. I think it's windoews related maybe a duff hotfix???????????

No 1 in shell32.dll - ie, the Windows default icon for something that it doesnt know. As an earlier poster mentioned, this is because autorun.inf references prey.ico which isnt on the dvd. I guess it should reference PreyLauncher.exe instead. Too late now tho, and it makes no difference at all to how the game runs.
