DukeitoutinDC
Has ANYONE been able to get this to run?
I have the Killaton 3 disk set. I installed on 98se. I can get Duke to run fine, but DukeDC will NOT run. It is still in ssi form. I tried what this guy said to do: http://www.duke4ever.eu/index.php?view=d3d_jf_addons Both with and without Jonof setup. Without jonof, and just using the duke3d shortcut with /gdukedc.grp added, it says game.con file missing and wont proceed. When I use the duke3d game.con, it gives errors and wont continue. When I use jonof with the con, it says out of memory. And w/o con, it wont run either (it really doesnt even see the dukedc.grp at all). So, if ANYONE has EVER gotten this to work, can you PLEASE explain to me how to get it working. I paid big $$$ for this 3 disk set recently, just to play all of the other content (dukezone 1 and 2 dont work either). Sigh. Big thanks for helping. |

Re: DukeitoutinDC
I tried eduke32.
It only shows the duke3d.grp (On xp, I have it already running duke3d) on startup. How do I switch it out to dukedc.grp? I see no options for switching grp's. ---------- Post added at 08:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:20 PM ---------- Well, I renamed dukedc.grp to duke3d.grp, and it still gave errors in eduke32. |

Re: DukeitoutinDC
Well, that one had 1 more step, but the rest is the exact same as what I did from the site I linked (which he links also).
The extra step was: 6. Put "dukedc.grp", and "user.con" (it was extracted) into a folder ... So, it gets past the user.con stage, but still errors out on the game.con phase. Sigh. When I use the duke3d game.con file, I get this error: Errors found in the file game.con. Do you want to use the INTERNAL DEFAULTS? When I say yes, I get error: Duke Nukem game data was not found! A valid copy of duke3d.grp is needed blah blah blah. So, eduke32 WONT load anything except duke3d.grp. ---------- Post added at 10:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:00 PM ---------- More: When I put my duke3d.grp in, and select the duledc folder, it loads duke3d. In new game, I choose Usermaps > Dukedc > And there is nothing in Dukedc folder to choose. Sigh ---------- Post added at 10:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:04 PM ---------- OMG. I put the whole extracted folder, "dukedcpp.ssi", into the Dukedc folder, and now I can run the maps fine. All that trouble for nothing. Just had to extract. Thanks all for helping. ---------- Post added at 10:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 PM ---------- Hmmmm. Well, I cant get Strafe to work. All of the arrow keys bind to "Shift" instead of arrow keys. This started happening with the Tomb Raider 2 and 3, with the new version of GJ. So, obviously, that muffed up the arrow keys for everything. Sigh. I tried rebinding Strafe left/right in the cfg files, but that doesnt help. |

Hey nebiatsu,
Relative to binding keys issue... Are you on a notebook computer by chance? MrBlackCat

Re: DukeitoutinDC
Hmm... I don't have an answer for that one. I can't reproduce it on my systems.
Maybe someone will come along who knows what is the cause of this. I will ask around. MrBlackCat
