In one of the trailers I saw, the camera zooms out revealing the Sphere, and there's an evil voice sounding like Judi Dench. Who's the voice actress, and does the "voice" belong a leader or "brain" of the alien Sphere?

Well, we don't really know and would have to actually play the full game to know that

The demo sure makes you think that it's the sphere/leader, but some stories have funny twists... so we don't really know.

Seems to me to be the sphere itself.

[spoilers] It seems like she is 'helping' Tommy along, probably for her own good. Remember the part in he demo, where the two... uh....um...er.... let's call them 'yuck holes' barf all over the two skinned dog looking things? Seems lik ethis will happen more and more, until this plot point is revealed to Tommy. [/spoilers]

Or, perhaps they took it out, kinda like how the bar door would explode in one of the earlier trailers...

I'm not entirely sure that female voice is the sphere itself. Remember that trailer where some ghostly voice said "you will become one of us" or something along that lines? That was a male voice. Also, those hunters aren't exactly trying to "bring you to her", as she demanded in the demo. Maybe the female voice belongs to those guys that help you and there's some kind of war going on on the sphere.

How do we know the hunters AREN'T trying to bring tommy to her?

Remember, the computer didn't think anything of tommy until after his return to the land of the living. She maybe wanted him recaptured/dead up until then.

as I mentioned in the voice acting thread the voice artist is Tyne Turner according to credits etc.. I did a google search and it comes up with this as the top result:

It does sound like the voice actor from the game and as I said she even looks slightly like Judi Dench.

This is what I think too. The voice doesn't seem hostile to you and it also doesn't seem to know where you are, maybe it's the leader or the computer program of the resistance on the ship.

If so, how do you explain the evil Atari-ish laugh in 3rd trailer when the Sphere reveals itself and the voice announced the "Do you really...." line? Do leaders of resistance laugh like that?

Somehow, voices that "doesn't seem hostile" can be deceiving. I can sense the arrogance & superiority complex in her inflections.

And Zogger, thanks for the name drop. I'll try to find out & see if the voice really match.

Is there anyway to extract voices from the demo?
