Why do you say that? It doesn't sound anything like Tommy's voice in any of his other lines, but it sounds quite a lot like his grandfather. Not to mention the emotion fits his grandfather (it would be pretty strange indeed if that were Tommy).

This is what Tommy sounds like...

This is his grandfather.

I do agree with some others here that we should be seeing better use of portals than primarily enemy spawns in these trailers - like the Box O' Portal™ we finally got to see in action this time, that was cool!
Yes, enemies do use portals to "beam in" on the action. BUT, they are used in many, many crazy ways we refuse to give away before the game is released. That tipped-over crate with the portal is one of the minor ways, trust me (happens really early in the game).

When making a trailer, it's always a push and pull between showing the cool stuff, and giving too much away. This goes for the story, too, which we've really only revealed the set-up, not any of the in-game progression. We want to avoid telling you that you become a strogg, for example (from Quake 4). And we do not want a trailer that reveals so much of the story or cool effects that when you play the game you feel like you know what's coming. So, it's a tough line to walk, and we'd prefer to err on the side of showing too little than showing too much.

It is Tommy saying "Oh my God" - from 1:15 to 1:19min.
Grandfather is talking at the begining and at the children scene.

Will this be the last trailer before the release of demo / game?

You did it right, because revealing too much ruins the game. A trailer is only to wet one's interest. The demo is where your buying opinion comes from, and where a few spoilers can be given.....but a trailer should never give away too much.

There are quite a few bad movie trailers that accidently give away too much....

Thank you, you successfully eliminated my only worry about this game: that I might know too much already.

Hell, I showed the trailer to Bon... and she wants me to get the game. She watched it and just said, "Wow." She wants me to buy it so she can watch me play it.

Congrats 3DRealms and Human Head, Bon isn't even a fan of FPS but she's really into this trailer. After watching it she looked at me and said, you'll need a new PC for this one.
I told her that you guys said it shouldrun great if I can play Doom 3 and Quake 4 smooth.

I just keep watching it over and over again, I just want this game now. Looks to be a very deep, emotional game. I know I'll be calling in to work the day this comes out.

This is looking to be the shooter the genre has needed for a while.

When I saw this section of the trailer, I said : "WoW" and when Tommy said "oh my god" when the plane was going to crash I said it at the end of the trailer. ( best footage for a FPS game since DNF 2001 trailer )

I guess the innovation in level design and the unique mechanism of gameplay found in Prey will make from it a "must have title" for every FPS gamer out there.

D_A,

"Bon isn't even a fan of FPS but she's really into this trailer"

Well she is a fan of a FPS gamer after all!

That was F*cking awesome!

I literally had goosebumps when watching that, and the music was superb, and fit very nicely with all the onscreen action. Voice acting was pretty much great all the way. Can't wait now, I feel re-invigorated to desperately play Prey again.

Great work to everyone involved with the trailer.

Hey all. Thanks for all the compliments, and even the complaints. More good stuff will be released each week from now on. Soon, we're going to release the game's theme song, by Jeremy and Julian Soule, of course. I consider this theme song ("Prey Overture") a masterwork. Seriously. I completely love it, and how it echos the game's themes. What you won't know when you hear it outside the game, though, is that it uses many motifs from within the game, belonging to various good and evil characters. It's nearly six minutes long.

Trust me on this tip: When you first listen to it, DO NOT watch the progress bar. The song is move moving when you lose track of how much longer it has to go.

We're also working on gameplay clips that we'll be releasing weekly, and they'll have music from the game, too.

Enjoy the ride up to P-Day!

So we're going to get a bit of Prey stuff released every week, eh? That sounds great! If I may make a suggestion, could you release the Prey stuff every Friday? It's been awhile since Friday Nights actually *meant* something.

I watched it last night over 12 times in a row!!!! It is simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This game is by far my MOST anticipated pc game for 06! That trailer just made me want to play it even more!! I bought a whole new computer in january for this game as well as Oblivion.I managed to get a hold of the high res version from a friend of mine on another forum I hang out on,and I am SOOOOO glad I pestered him for it.I really want the question I sent in to 'askprey' two weeks ago,to be ansewered in FULL, and not to be fluffed off with a "Well....we will do our best to implement it,IF,we have the time" Let
me reiterate,I want widescreen support coded in properly,I dont want to have to hack it in,via the INI file after the fact, like I had to do with FEAR! I have outlayed ALLOT of cash to play this in ALL its glory. My newish computer,is I am sure cringing in fear(no pun intended) at having to render this masterpiece at 1680x1050 with everything on max !!

HL2 was alot worse with video releases...
That was all in-game footage... And those footages weren't short...

It would be worse if they kept showing Prey with a 10 minute gameplay video every month or something instead of just some trailers...

How is it worse? It's good that they are releasing lots of footage. Those who don't want to see it or don't like that, don't have to watch it. It's really as simple as that.

No no, it's not just that simple...
If a company shows off loads of in-game video footage months before the release, some people WILL watch it... Some can resist it (like most of us) but some people will siomply want to see it, without realizing that it'll spoil the game for them...

It's really sad for these people, and to prevent that, things like this shouldn't occur imo...

And like 3DR said it themselves (think it was Scott) "We'd rather show off too little, than too much"...
