Prey Crashes on Opening Cutscene - XP 64
That's basically it. I've patched it and everything but I get an illegal operation error as soon as the opening cut scene starts, every time.

Any ideas?

I'm reinstalling now to see if that will work...

What are your system specifications ?

what graphics card and what driver.

Have you patched the game to latest one.

Try and run it in 32bit mode if you can.

The 64-bit version shares a codebase with Windows Server 2003 and its service packs are also developed and released on the same timeline as the server product.

Update with Microsoft update, update flash, shockwave, java, microsoft net framework 2.

As mentioned, be more specific so it's easier to help you.
- Include complete systemspecs, and the driver versions you use.
- What have you already tried to resolve the issue?

I doubt this is a big surprise to you, but XP64 isn't the best supported system there is. If you wan't 64-bit computing, your best bet is either Vista 64-bit or Linux 64-bit. Also, updating flash, shockwave, net doesn't really help - since I don't think any of those are needed to run Prey.
