Whar happened to DNF (older versions)
I saw a couple of trailers on youtube of older versions of DNF. These were actual videos of game play. So the game did actually exist, or at least part of it. So it got me thinking, they weren't happy with the direction they were going (or whatever it was) and scrapped it, but what happened to the part of DNF that they had already developed? Have they still got the remnants of the first few levels or something sitting around?? It looked pretty good actually, although obviously a bit dated by now.

This has been mentioned before. They prob have the scrapped stuff for themselves, but will NOT release it to the public.

Yeah they arent going to be releasing that stuff. Its either locked away, or its been scrapped. Never to see the light of day.

There is nothing to play there anyway. Those were just videos, the content served no other purpose than to be shown in a trailer. There never was a DNF game. Ever.

This's been said many times before. We'll never get our hands on the old versions of DNF, simply because they don't exist anymore.

I see we have an expert in our midst.

As George has said, all content previous to the current version of the game should be considered lost, and gone. Obviously we still have copies of these things in the company archives, but it will not be released for a number of reasons - George has stated so many times. To claim that content existed solely for videos is FUD, and is not correct.

As long as DNF comes out I don't think too many will care about the old versions

Those builds surely aren't complete. Therefore, they're not funny. There were a reason 3DR didn't work more on them.

I know it's not going to happen, but it would be cool if they released the 2001 version for PSP.

George has mentioned that certain levels/situations that were shown in the 2001 video were reworked or will be present in the new DNF.

Where is George anyways?

He's programming Robot George so that he can defeat Clone George. That way he can be King George.

I did forget to put that smiley there, didn't I?

Yeah, I did.

Kids, remember, take my posts with a grain of salt. I want this game to exist just as much as anyone else around here.

I was never really sure what the exact state was on this issue, and now I know.

These materials have been said by George to be gone. You should pretty much forget about everything previous to the current version, of which you've seen the couple of thumbnail screenshots, and the teaser video.

There will be more coming. When it's ready, of course.
