Mac ROTT
It seems those guys at http://www.icculus.org have done it again. In less than two days after the release of the source, they had ROTT running under Linux. Now less than four days after the release, it is running under OS X.

From the CVS source comments from "overcode":
- Initial OS X work. Port is mostly complete, but a few issues remain.
And now this morning:
- Wooooooo, OS X works!

Good job!

Here's an email I got from them again about MacROTT..

Hello again,

As someone noticed on the forums, we've got ROTT running on MacOS X now.

Here's a binary package with the shareware data (alternately, build from
source and unzip the original shareware installer manually):

http://www.overcode.net/~overcode/rott-osx-test.tar.gz

You'll need to install these Frameworks for it to run:

http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.5.pkg.tar.gz
http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_m...2.4.pkg.tar.gz

To get this running on OS9, a Codewarrior project would need to be put
together (OSX uses GCC), but all the assembly is replaced with C code
and the byte-ordering issues should be cleaned up, so it might "just
work" on OS9 once someone gets it to compile. No promises, though.

The port was done by John Hall, and his source changes are in
icculus.org's CVS.

Merry Christmas,
--ryan.

(feel free to post this to the forums, if you like.)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Word on the street (and in the CVS change log) is that the code now compiles with Visual Studio .NET.

I keep getting 'authorization failed' messages when I try and logon at icculus, I used the links on
the site to login with, is there some special setting I need to use to get the rott project with?

Kickass... I remember playing ROTT for hours on my friends LAN (after many more hours of playing D3d). Can't wait to relive it! God I love OSX!
