Static/stuttering audio during gameplay
Need some help.
I have an Asus G73 laptop, with the 64-bit edition of Windows 7. Graphics card is an ATI mobility 5870 with the 12.1 Catalyst driver. Sound is provided by Realtek High Definition Audio. During most of the games I'm playing lately (MW3, Batman Arkham City, Assassin's Creed Revelations)--all of which are patched--I get some really nasty static and stuttering that randomly pops in throughout the audio. Video is fine, without any lag. This sound problem also randomly occurs when watching some movies or TV shows (on DVD or on iTunes). I'm guessing it has something to do with drivers, but I'm not sure where to start. Any advice? Thanks.

Re: Static/stuttering audio during gameplay
It appears to be a defect in the motherboard. Either send it in for a replacement (if under warranty) or do one of the workarounds listed in the link below (ie uninstalling creative suite and the realtek driver / forcing use of the generic windows driver.
