The HD video is messed up. It freezes during the first portal but the sound continues. I can skip ahead past the part where it freezes and it plays fine but there is no sound if I skip ahead. I can play last week's HD video just fine. The low res version works fine.

Wow, just wow! The possibilities with those features keep supricing me!

The background music is brilliant. And accualy Tommy's voice isnt so bad. Its pretty genious imo, the moment i felt a twist in my stomache from just watching this movie he said accualy what i though. well sort of.

He sounds very weak and vurnarable, guess thats the point.

I liked it very much... It was what i was hoping to see in this video... (Portals, spiritwalk stuff, and some puzzle moments requireing this)

I also really liked the portal, after portal, after portal etc...
But for somereason, the player model made a slight "jumb" each time entering it... Like if there was some kind of nano-second loading time when getting through it... Nevermind that though, because it was really cool...

I assume that was the leechgun..?
I mean, it looked like the same weapon, just with different ammo types in those containers of it... Or perhaps that's just me...

Great video...
Can't wait to see which awards Prey will win at E3 this year...

There was no loading time, it was Tommy stepping up over the edge of the box.

You might see a "jump" because you're instantly emerging from the side of a portal that's on the other side of the light source. Because you haven't left the room, it makes for a slightly wierd transition - but it's real, and probably what you would experience if you yourself, as a real-life human being, were to do the same thing. Normally the player won't give this much thought cause he's dropped into a completely different location/environment rather than going in circles due to a portal "mind-f*ck"...

Please don't talk about ANY of the events from this video outside of this thread without using spoiler tags... because I think I'm not the only one that is skipping this video. I'm finally doing it

So if you talk about something from this video in another thread, I formally request to use spoiler tags, thanks

The videos (and other media) are released to demonstrate the game and create a "word of mouth" buzz, you can't expect people to litter various cross-referencing discussions with spoiler tags.

I think there's only one sure-fire way to avoid spoilers and that is not to read the Prey forum (or perhaps not even the others either).

Well, the news itself on the main page says it's better to avoid this video if it contains spoilers, but why would anyone need to discuss the things from this video outside of this thread? This thread is good enough for those having questions or remarks about this video.

Yes, and that's why I asked to use spoiler tags, because I could foresee people starting to talk about this video in other threads. Honestly, it's not much work to use spoiler tags. None in fact, I do it all the time in various threads on other gaming discussions.

It might be time for you to stop reading the forums then if you feel that way.

It's pretty naieve to think people will honor this request. It just won't happen. It never does. And was stated above, this stuff is "word of mouth", and is the big push of info leading up to release. That happens with every game.

As for the idea to avoid the video - I WROTE THAT, so I know what the meaning behind it was. You're going to get something spoiled you don't want to. You know it. I know it. if you really don't want to know, stop reading the forums now.

Also, this thread is supposed to be about the video, not Cerebus' desire to not have it spoiled, so let's get back to video discussion, eh?

I'm even more hyped up for this game now, that was very cool. The thing where he kept following himself was good.
I like how he seems to comment on things in the game, more games should have that happen, it would make me feel less alone in it, and the game would feel more real because the character is feeling the same way he really would be, and commenting on things you are seeing.

Very cool video. The vomitting was a nice touch and Tommy's voice sounds more inplace now. I don't know if it's because I'm used to it now or that you did something to make it sound less like an external voice over. Can't wait for the high res version!

I am starting to think the reason the voice might sound off is that it's not the usual bad as marine type of hero you usualy hear babling if you even hear anything. I guess what I am getting at is that if it was a hard as marine shouting oneliners the actual acting could be even worse and no one would realy notice it much since thats waht you usualy get(asuming the hero even has a voice). Ths might explain why it sounds realy off the first time you hear him say a line and the next time you watch the same video it fits better (thats how it is for me anyway).

Edit: The place wher he sees hi self looks like this from the top I belive.

____
|***|
|___|
*****______
**^**|****|
*****|_____|

Where the yellow portals lead to eachother and the red arrow is Tommy seeing him self entering the next box. Maybe the portlas are inside the box rather then at the edge though as I can't rember exactly what it looked like(was a few hours since I saw the video).

Hell sure it does. I mentioned it because this "following myself" scene reminded me of one of the last scenes in Cube2 where this woman opens a door and sees the room she's escaping from. Anyway, all these realities mixing with each other in Prey looks pretty similiar to some ideas from Hypercube, at least for me. But experiencing such a scenes seems to give much more fun than watching them.

I'm curious now what happens when you aim two portals at each other, so it looks like you have two mirrors reflecting each other. In Duke3D it looked very weird when you did that

Most likely there is a limit to how many iterations you can see. I once made a huge level in unrealed(can't remeber which game) with portals at the end connecting the whole thing back to it self. It was just a big cube cowering the whole level space with portals covering the whole sides you could basicly fire a rockat and see it pass by as many times as you wanted, if the rockets in the game would not have had a timer on them. You could see your self two times in that game IIRC. The unreal portals are a lot different from the Prey ones but I asume they have some sort of limit like that as well. If they don't you would just crash the game if you placed them opostie of each other.
