Apogee/3D Realms official preview slideshow packs
The official preview slideshows of Apogee/3D Realms games are no longer available from the main site's FTP, but even though they might be outdated they're still of historical value. Luckily most of them got their way on various third-party FTPs or shovelware CDs that were eventually archived by Jason Scott (cd.textfiles.com), so I thought I'd put up the links to those I've managed to find:
Apogee Preview Slideshows: Bio Menace Preview Slideshow Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold Preview Slideshow Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold Preview Slideshow 2 Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold Preview Slideshow 3 Boppin' Preview Slideshow Duke Nukem II Preview Slideshow Halloween Harry Preview Slideshow Halloween Harry Preview Slideshow 2 Hocus Pocus Preview Slideshow Monster Bash Preview Slideshow Mystic Towers Preview Slideshow Raptor: Call of the Shadows Preview Slideshow Rise of the Triad Preview Slideshow Rise of the Triad Preview Slideshow 2 Wacky Wheels Preview Slideshow XenoPhage: Alien Bloodsport Preview Slideshow 3D Realms Preview Slideshows: Duke Nukem 3D Preview Slideshow Duke Nukem 3D & Shadow Warrior Preview Slideshow Shadow Warrior Preview Slideshow Terminal Velocity Preview Slideshow Some other previews though were only available from distributions of other Apogee/3D Realms titles. For example, 5 pre-release screenshots of Duke Nukem 3D were included with the v1.1 of the shareware episode of Terminal Velocity, and 5 more were added with v1.2 (both the stand-alone download and the v1.1 to v1.2 shareware patch). These were eventually removed from the Terminal Velocity shareware distribution as well. In this respect, it is perhaps also noteworthy to mention that the older versions of Apogee installers (different from the ones currently available from the 3D Realms FTP) are also of historical value. I especially admire the ASCII art logos that were made for some games' installers, including Rise of the Triad and Duke Nukem 3D. Litude has outlined the story of the different installers used by Apogee in this post at RGB Classic Games Forums. Some of the old installer packages are available here and here (these related websites aren't exactly duplicates.

This is great! I always loved looking at the previews and checking out catalog.exe!

Re: Apogee/3D Realms official preview slideshow packs
BTW, this Interactive Entertainment preview of Rise of the Triad shows an early version of the title screen (which looks cool IMO) that I think isn't included with either of the downloadable slideshows. I also believe that in another Interactive Entertainment issue, there's a pre-release screenshot from ROTT not found in the slideshows, alongside the same title screen, in a gaming news section.

Re: Apogee/3D Realms official preview slideshow packs
Just stumbled upon a ZIP with assorted Windows desktop icons for Apogee games:
APOGICON.ZIP Apparently it's official although I can't find it at 3DRelams' FTP. Some search came up with other packs at cd.textfiles.com: APOGICO.ZIP APOGICON.ZIP These two don't seem to be official, although I'm not sure about it either. [Edit] Found info on the official icon pack: http://www.3drealms.com/news/2001/02..._3d_realm.html
