dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
I'm not sure if this applies to the regular JonoF port since I was using SWP.exe, but a few of the times when swp.exe crashes, there's an error window that pops up from Dr. Watson:
Quote:
SWP.exe is still running (taking up about 40MB ram) but has no windows open, so you have to kill the process. Any suggestions to prevent that or what to do when it happens? |

That happened once to me also but it was only on one particular map and I cannot remember which one, i think it might have been Exile or Panda, not sure though.

Re: dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
what is that dwwin.exe process anyway? on my old PC it started showing up around the time the PC started taking on viruses. it barely ever shows up on my new PC though. what the hell is that process?

Re: dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
Dr Watson, it's part of windows for crash-tracking or something like that, I've never used it for my coding.

Re: dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
The Dr. Watson crash is reproducible (within 10 minutes I think) using the attached map, which I used to play with original SW with no problems (so it's not a map bug).

Re: dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
first off, this map didn't crash once for me. played for 10 minutes.
second, where is it from ? i checked the map packs and it wasn't included. Do you have more maps that may be missing from the packs ? any chance you could check metal22 was quite interesting.

Re: dwwin.exe application error in SWP.exe
Um, I guess maybe this wasn't clear that I was playing in a WANGBANG, not just single player going through the map. It is a multiplayer map, after all.
I have played this map with at least 2 different people (using swp.exe) and it consistently does those Dr. Watson crashes. I know because it's a great map and I've tried to play it several times I suppose there's a small possibility that there's some problem on my end, but what could it be? I can play other maps just fine (with the same opponents, even). As for other maps, I've hoarded SW and Duke stuff over the years and I have lots, but I'm still working on sorting them into single/wangbang. |

If you actually want to play sometime, you can help me sort through them! (Or anyone else who wants to play)
