how many ppl play on PC

I'm just wondering how many people play Prey on the PC. I recently got my gaming PC up and running again, and I was wondering if it was worth buying Prey on the PC (I own it for 360, and have Q4 on PC). Oh, my Wal-mart has it on sale for $30 (Prey LE)

So pretty much how easy is it to find a game online?

(OT Q: How easy is it to make mods? What coding knowledge must I know?)

Prey was made to be a PC game, and IMO it's the best platform. So, yeah. I play it on PC.

I'm sure it is best on PC, most FPSs are. But, how easy is it to find a game online? Xbox 360 MultiPrey is dead, and I'm just wondering if it's the same on the PC.

probably just a little better, but there are lots of good servers to play on, 8 HH servers for ex. and your online experience should be more rewarding. Let's put it this way, on a night when Prey is "busy", there might be 4 populated servers whereas last night there was never more than one and sometimes, not even that

you should read lots of reviews and reed threads here in the forums- sp prey is much better than multi prey- multi prey has been for the most part a let down and lots of problems- by the way lots of threads or posts complaining about problems in this game have been deleted- buy at your own risk- reed reed reed you will see multi prey is not rewarding at all for most people-

if all you care about is system match than prey is wonderful- if you are a on line type player want to play other folks- multi prey pretty much sucks- if you can get the game for 20 bucks or less its worth that- it was no where near worth the 62 bucks i paid for the collectors ed. from day 1 to now of all the servers 10~20 or so- you go to play multi prey any time day or night it may be no-NO players on line- and you will be lucky to start the game go to play on line and find 4-6 players spread out over all its servers- and its reasons for it- no matter what the die hards try to tell ya

lag and odd player movement and weapon balance is not really that good- lack of maps and game modes-has a child like voting problem- kids have low score they start the vote over and over and over again- and you had probs with i guess a stats cheat- folks would boot ya for winning- or drop out of a game so no 1,s score or win would count- some turney type matches folks was complaining about this- from the beginning even 4 player servers are a lag fest- after the first patch-my game was worst and even after this last patch my game will not start it times out i have to click the retry button- it did not do this until i installed the first patch- the game came out with only 6-7 maps and only dm tdm modes- they just added 4 maps and some more player skins-

the game had exploits not sure now- and i suspect the game is hacked too- if its any on line hacks or cheats for doom3 they was converted for prey the first week it came out- while playing you will notice some players or maybe just 1 is way faster [ not normal player movement makes ya think speed hack] than every eles in the game and- some- i will not name names you go to fight them go to shoot them the game like blanks out or skips- the person you was ready to fire on- is completely out of frame-do not know where they are and you get dead- this is not normal-

the skip or what ever- of all the times ive played and against every player- ive only seen this with 1 player- no matter how many other players are in the game- go to fight this 1 player he is there 1 second and gone the next not to mention great aim and seems he gets way more air under him to than every1 eles too- this 1 player sure knows alot about game code and seems to know alot about this games code to-very odd for sure- im not sure if this game keeps stats or not but if it does you can see of the games ive played ive won or had high score 75% or better for the games ive played and if not high score im normaly in the top 3- playing this 1 fella i can not even kill him 1 time- he is there 1 second and gone the next and then you are dead- again something real odd there- folks you think what you like-

the normal multi prey player movement is like walk mode the game is pretty slow- so its easy to notice things not normal or seem out of place- way more people cheat in these games than is told- you be the judge and keep your eyes open for anything odd-its not hard to find in any online game even this a new game-

reed reed reed pc format is not the only 1 with lots of probs- do not be fooled by great reviews of the demo- and do not confuse reviews for sp and mp- alot of these guys here are die hard- fight for the game and or company like they get a freaken pay check- folks say its probs with the game-they say no not true or just rip on ya want to fight- back and promote the game- reed you will see some of the fools bought like 20 of the same game copy to support the company and to think they look cool-

again system match is great but for me-i play them 1 time thats it-i rather play folks on line- as for type of game and being different again its great- the makers of prey put little effort or heart into multi prey and shorted it on maps and modes and all around quality- game play out of 10 for multi prey its maybe a 4- most games have this same prob- the on line part is nothing as good as the sp- prey is another game who dropped the ball with on line play- lag or what ever crap is so bad for lots of people they can not even begin to play and its over the different formats not just pc-

i hope future patches and added content make the game worth the money i spent on it- i do not play it - i do have a nice tin box- i plan to do a system whole system upgrade and give the game a try again- i do not think it much matters- but im stuck with a crap 62 dollar game- i should have never bought-

players always seem fast if they are good and your ping is high and theirs is low, that would be my first suspicion; not one person has been banned by punk buster in Prey

I think MultiPrey is fun... I just wish people would disperse over servers instead of all gathering up in one.

I agree. I don't play a lot due to work and stuff but when I do play, I like just hopping on whatever server is online with a good ping that is playing without any custom content, with 0 to 1 or 2 players. I really haven't got enough regular Prey DM yet. If I jump on with no one in, I just hang out a while... do something else while keeping an eye out for other players. If they never come then yeah, eventually I jump on one of the crowded servers.

I play on PC... but not online. Single player only.

I love the pc over the console version.

I only play pc due to problems of holding a controller. My hands will lock up holding the controller. I have had to have my godson help me release the thing and get the pain meds. I have arthritis in my joints.

The pc lets me play as long as I like. But beyond that, the graphics are just better than any console can put-out.

Love MultiPrey and have since the demo. Played a lot when it first came out and there were some serious people who set up ladders and everything, but since they moved away due to lack of support I just kind of play every now and then. But yeah, there isn't a huge surge of people playing MultiPrey, just some regulars you see on the servers a lot.
