Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
Hey, I have ''The Dream'' -mod unzipped to Eduke32 directory. While I runned the .bat, everything worked fine, but mod's custom sounds are missing during the game. I have no idea what to do...
There's a video showing some gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZidDb263aTY |

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
Eduke32 has a custom game content directory, you would have to select the folder its located in for the mod to work properly.

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
What else do you have in the folder you unzipped it to..? Sometimes mods can conflict with their files.
Like The Dukenator said, it would probably be a good idea to extract the ZIP to a new folder and set that is the content directory for EDuke32. Also, anyone know if EDuke32 still uses OpenAL? And if so, if "The Dream" has non .voc or .wav files? |

Quote:
Installation: No need to unzip archive, just place files "A.dream.zip" and "A.dream.bat" in game folder and run bat file. Make sure that you have original duke3d.grp there and DO NOT have user.con. If you use eDuke32 mod will run flawlessly. |

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
Great one level mod this one is... I really thought this was something rather unique and well done.
The Dream 2 is an okay sequel though it lacks the surreal nature the first one had. I'd be interested in a third one... does anyone know if the author still makes stuff for Duke 3D? |

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
The batch file only works if Eduke32 & Duke3D.GRP are in the same folder as the mod.
Since I run other mods, I extract all the files from the zip into its own folder. Then I select it when running Eduke32. Since The Dream has a zip as well, extract that to the same directory as its located in. Then load up Eduke32 and select the folder the mod was installed to. This should work without issue.

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
This is what's in A.dream.bat
Code:
@echo off EDuke32.exe /gA.dream.zip /hA.dream.def

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
Oh! Try putting the contents of your A.dream folder into a ZIP file called A.dream.zip, then put that ZIP in the same place you have A.dream.bat.
If the contents of the batch that Dukenator posted is correct, it's no wonder it wouldn't work. |

Re: Eduke32: Sound problem in ''The Dream'' -mod
Hey, I just found out that only SOME of the custom sounds work. For example the alarm sound (HLIDLE03.VOC) at the beginning of the map, but most of the sounds like the whispering sound (gmeovr5.voc) at the entrance of the ''nightmare'' -part (I hear Duke's ''GAME OVER!'' -voice instead of that whispering sound) are missing during game play. Also the cool shotgun blast -sound is missing. So are there something wrong with the .VOC -files?

Did you follow Dopefish7590's suggestion above?
