Prey Weekly Update Update
Just a short note about this week's Prey Weekly Update. There isn't going to be one this week. Chris sent over an ICQ message saying they're just too busy to take the time to write one today for the update.

This is understandable, as they're incredibly busy at this point as they race toward finishing the game and the gold announcement that we're sure people are waiting for. Chris wanted to pass along his apologies for not doing an update this week, but we're sure you'll understand.

The new caption contest is Prey related. That should be enough to stave off the riots.

What you've said is an update in itself, Joe, and I think we're all happier to receive the news that they're so close they can't spare any time at all.

I spoke with 2K today to make sure I'm told immediately when the Gold announcement is made I get told right away and can bring it to you as fast as possible.

No clue when it will actually be at this point, but I'm just trying to be prepared to move quickly when it does.

What you just posted Joe is more than enough to keep me satisfied. Besides, I'm counting days to the demo... no weekly update can top that for me.

It's been answered several times in many threads. There is a search, you know.

The answer is yes - for everyone but you. I just called HH, and they're coding it so it won't work on your machines.

Those guys at HH are so good that they can do that per machine basis. (/kisses ass so it will work on my machine)

Wait, so the Gold announcement can precede the demo release?

As I said before, it would be rock to have demos be partially pre-loaded versions of the full game featuring the first few levels. So you don't have to redownload those levels, simply continue streaming from where the demo ends. Distribution of the demo on regular channels would also get the basic delivery system for the full game to the widest possible audience, the full game download being just a few clicks away.

No one ever said otherwise, but don't read anything into it since the announcement can also come in two months.

Having the demo on your system won't mean anythign if you buy the full game and then stream it to your system via Triton. Save games will work, but that won't impact the download like you suggest.

They're two seperate entities.
