eDuke32 Crashes on my laptop with min settings + Log
Duke Runs great with max settings & HRP on my desktop, but crashes on my laptop with min settings.
Laptop: XP64 SP2, Celeron 1.86Ghz 2.5GB RAM, Intel Mobile 965 graphics, latest drivers. I set all rendering stuff to min. 640x480 32 bit OpenGL, Fullscreen Texture Filter Near_MM_Near Widescreen: Yes Ansiotropic Filtering: None Use VSync: No Enable Hires Textures: No Enable Models: No Only maphacks.zip in the autoload folder (tried with and without) The last thing in the log says "Mighty foot engaged", thats when I kicked a trooper in the face for a fatality. That was fine, then I was in the lane near the bathroom, behind the cash register where the atomic health is. I walked forward enough for the cop to see me, then i walked back and shot the fire extinguisher next to him with the shotgun and as the fireball appeared it crashed. Re: eDuke32 Crashes on my laptop min settings + Log
He is not using the HRP Music pack thing, so I don't see that making any difference. There is something else causing the chrash... I don't like the look of that Intel video driver.

No, OpenAl is needed I think...but, yes, Intel video is a bad sign

If you want to hear the music that is in .ogg format yes. But a vanilla setup of Duke does not need it.

Re: eDuke32 Crashes on my laptop min settings + Log
Try to run Duke3dw by ProAsm
1. Download the Shareware pack for Duke3dw by ProAsm: http://www.proasm.com/files/dn/Duke3dw_Shareware.zip The Shareware pack for Duke3dw by ProAsm includes the older version of Duke3dw v4.0.2.3 and a Low Resolution pack which is a heavily scaled down HRP. Just unzip the contents to any empty folder. Execute Duke3dw.exe or the D3wSetup.exe for 1st time users. Just add the retail version Duke3d.grp for a full version of the game. 2. Download the new Duke3dw v4.0.5 from: http://www.proasm.com/files/dn/Duke3dw_v405.zip Just unpack and overwrite the old Duke3dw files.

Re: eDuke32 Crashes on my laptop min settings + Log
supergoofy: Good idea, I'll try it. Will ProAsm's version be compatible with eDuke32's networking?
