One week left, can we have a countdown?
Well, it seems like there's one last week left until the BIG release. So, Joe, George, are there any plans to have that banner on top of the site be replaced by a countdown to the day that Prey launches? It would be nice to start a little something there.

And could you make it country specific; I hate to see that counter reach 0, and not being able to buy it here in the Netherlands...

Emm countdown for PREY? The only game that has ever got a countdown I believe has been HALO 2? I think haha.

But given this game has been in the works for like forever I think it would be nice to add some excitement on this forum for a countdown

This game, as well as DNF, deserves a countdown, IMO.

I think us Triton users have it worse knowing that we have most of the game loaded onto our computers yet powerless to use it.

Or those you have a 24 hour Walmart near them and they know the game is hiding in the stockroom waiting for midnight and hoping they can talk a rookie stock clerk into putting it on the shelf.

Or those who ordered it in the mail and the package arives early and when they open it discover is a copy of the Sims instead.

Yes everyone gets the hell they deserve.

I'm not doing that this time - mostly because I haven't had time - I'm away on vacation - I am checking in to take care of the big problems, but most of the little stuff like that is not being done.

Is the release date the 10th or 11th? I've heard on different sites both. I hope it's the 10th cause I have my LE copy on 3 day shipping, so I should get it on Thursday. And with my luck something will happen and cause it to arrive Friday. But if it ships on the 11th and with my luck something goes wrong I wouldn't see it til Monday!

The numbers for DNF wouldn't fit on a 1280x1024 screen... (that's a joke, btw)

Most, if not all, games are released on a Tuesday, just like DVD's. I think it has something to do with them not wanting to affect the weekend box office receipts...

The release date is the 11th, but for those that pre-ordered the orders will ship out on the 10th.
I received a few games on the Monday before the official release thanks to such shipping.

Of course it didn't help with HL2... I had to sit there and hold the game for a whole day without being able to play it.

Re: One week left, can we have a countdown?
EB Games says the game ship on the 10th which means it will be in the stores on the 11th.

I have heard stories were the stores may get the game a few days before the ship date and some of actually sold the game prior to the ship date but I have never actually seen that happen.

I purchased the game through Triton which says that the game will be allowed to be played at 12:01am on the 11th

Re: One week left, can we have a countdown?
I think steam is very beautiful in that area that it really knocks everyone's effort out to start "playing early" (except for reviewers maybe..

But it has some "fairness" to it that everyone just will be able to play at the same time.

Dunno how it's going to be with triton, if prey CD (or dvd) doesnt come with triton, then everyone of you will be playing befor triton users LOL

Re: One week left, can we have a countdown?
I dont think the CD/DVD players need Triton like the HL2 users need Steam to play.

Actually I think us Triton users may get to play the game on 12:01 on the 11th which is sooner then if I went to Best Buy or EB. The guy in Walmart said the would more likely get the game on the 13th, even tough it ships on the 10th.

EB is the best retail place if you want to get the game on the firstday it is available.
