Angry Prey startup error looking for non-existent Disk Drive

I can not start Prey. At startup, it is looking for the original CD in a non-existing drive (drive F). This occurs when starting using the install .exe file or from the CD itself.

I have a brand new system. ASUS A8N w/AMD 64 X2 (dual) 3000+, 4G Ram, Nvidia 8800, VISTA. All driver are up-to-date. Prey updates installed.

I had no problems running on my old system, which was a P4, Nvidia 6600.

Hmmm... and your old system probably was Windows XP?
You could try one of the following:
  • open a command window (cmd.exe) and type subst F: <your CD-ROM drive> (e.g. subst F: D:\ -- where D:\ is your CD-ROM drive). Note: this drive will only be available until the next reboot!
  • install Steam from www.steampowered.com and register Prey with it using your CD key (this will install Prey through Steam -- no CD necessary)
