eDuke32/Duke Nukem 3D with Vista problem
Hello, I just installed eDuke32 and the HRP, and some why I can't get it all to work.
Heres what I have of the log: EDuke32 1.5.0devel 20090313 addsearchpath(): Added C:/Program Files/DUKE3D/ OS: Windows Vista (6.0.6001) Service Pack 1 Loading opengl32.dll Loading glu32.dll Initializing DirectDraw... I am running Windows Vista Ultimate SP. 1, Radeon X1650PRO Graphics card, Asus P5E Motherboard with SoundMAX Audio(the card came with the board) Also, I have tried it with and without the HRP, all my drivers are updated I am using the Atomic Edition (which i am unable to tell which version it is cause in one area i get v1.4 and in another i get v1.5 when I use it with DOSBox) What happens is i can get the program running, but once I try to start Duke Nukem 3D it gets to the first intro video, and crashes right there. When it crashes, everything stops responding and eDuke exits out. Any and all help would be much appreciated! Thanks!!!

Re: eDuke32/Duke Nukem 3D with Vista problem
Did you edit out all the lines referring to the grp and con files? If you're trying to trouble shoot your game you should probably stop trying to load dukeplus and get the base game to work first.

Re: eDuke32/Duke Nukem 3D with Vista problem
Your log looks fine.
From your description, it sounds like the problem has nothing to do with the HRP, but you should try a vanilla game to be sure. @Forge: As his log shows, he wasn't using Duke Plus.

It did, He has updated his log before you posted to a different one.
Does it work if you unplug the controller?

Re: eDuke32/Duke Nukem 3D with Vista problem
-or- run "setup" from C:/Program Files/DUKE3D/
and set up your controllers. Quote:
Could be video card problems. Your cards settings may be off. Make sure they're set to factory default. If you see the nuke symbol and it crashes right after: The first intro video is also where sound starts. You might be having an audio problem. I had a laptop with a soundmax card and I couldn't get it to work right with dosbox. Are your soundcard drivers from the computer distributor or microsoft (both can be generic drivers) or are they from the card manufacturer? |
