Strange graphical bug
Over the years I've built several maps for Duke Nukem.
My latest mapping project is turning out in a most strange way.
A graphical error that I've never seen before appears.

I've got a betatester for my map and this error appears on his rig too.

The error appeared both before and after the latest HRP release so I don't think that is an issue.

Anyone who might know what causing this?

Not sure what's going on but it looks like a hall of mirror error. This happens when a part of a level does not get drawn or gets drawn transparently so the last frame shines through.

What does it look like in classic mode?

Are some of these walls and floors marked as parallaxing?

Will test it in classic mode tonight.

Could this have something to do with copy/paste of a cluster of sectors?

You see, this is a starship containing three decks.
I've built a deck and then copy/paste it two times.
This copy/paste took place at an early stage of building. These three decks have been heavily modified since copy/paste.

There shouldn't be parallaxing in those areas at all. Might have touched the "P" key by accident though.
The map has more than 2500 sectors so it will be one hell of a job to search for mistakenly parallaxed sectors...

You pressed T (for transparency) in the floors. This is used for the transparent water of Room over Room ( or sector over sector, whatever). To fix this just press T again until it turns to normal.

^Thank you very much for your help Parkar, Plagman and Hellfire!

The one with the correct solution was: HellFire.

**

I didn't know about that "T" key.
When mapping I constantly using the "R" key in order to check the sprites and texture placing.
It's easy to hit the neighbour key by mistake.
If I find a texture I like I use the tab key to copy it and spread the texture out in the map.
If this texture is "polluted" by the "T" key the error would appear many places.
That's what happened this time so I have to spend some 30-40 hours correcting the textures.

Wish it was a key in Mapster that correct all of them at once...

What about a feature in Mapster32 that :

1. Show all parallaxed sectors highlighted in 2D mode?
2. Show all transparent sectors highlighted in 2D mode?
...and so on...

Weirdest error ever.

also this error.
Reminds me of a few star trek voyager episodes.

when 2 voyagers are merged together and cause something similar to that.

Also that pig dead reminds me of a episode with a bomb on voyager causing weird things such as that ghost effect thing when Chekotay walks.

Imagine what it was like, walking around for hours staring at the floor and constantly moving the mouse back and forth in order to detect all this mistagged sectors.....

What you should have done was gave the map to someone who had fresh eyes when you were done with the map before release, that way they might have found the other's that I have seen.
