Shadow Warrior HRP? Which one?
Hi. Some time ago I bought Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. I downloaded the HRP for Duke and I'm having a blast! So now I am wondering how to upgrade SW. I have difficities in telling the number of HRPs for SW so could somebody recommend one? Are there alternatives to a HRP? I really want to play Shadow Warrior upgraded so could anyone please help me out?

From http://opeth.bmlabs.net/other/sw_contrib/ you could find the latest Deth's HRP (most updated).

I unzipped the HRP into the SW folder but Shadow Warrior plays the same: very slow/choppy with poor sound. Sparky, could you help me again? What did I miss? How do I activate and use the HRP? Should I find a port for the game?

Yes, use a WinXP port. The only one I know of is jfShadowWarrior, Jonof's SW port.

Re: Shadow Warrior HRP? Which one?
No dont use that, its full of errors, go to the thread that says "annoying issues with jfSW" there are some links to another port, and when you DL it, make sure you DL the Config file that Wallenreiter posted to help fix the sound problem that port had! (sorry if i mispelled your name there buddy )

really there aren't any "good" ports for SW as of now.
One day (WID) Jono will release a full update of the build engine and the world of Duke and Shadow Warrior will be happy.

Yes, I have not updated the HRP in a while. The person who created the newest one was the one that added a ton of textures.

I still need to DL that one, but I have a slow DL speed... so I've been kind of hesitant...

I'll grab it now, and make sure that everything is up to date.

EDIT:There is some messed up con code in the new HRP, but I'll go through and fix it and then upload the newest cons.

EDIT2: Okay, as far as I know, the only mistake was on texture 269 and 362, which are in the props folder. New props def is uploaded for those who are too lazy to just change it themselves.

This is nice, to see the community pulling together; however, it'd be even nicer to have a nice blunt matter-of-fact statement that answers the original question with no embellishments that could be misinterpreted as ifs and buts

So, if I understand correctly, the nearest thing to an "up-to-date" HRP right now is:

I always get this error:

hightile: highres/sprites/signs/4865.png (pic 4865) not found
hightile: highres/sprites/signs/4864.png (pic 4864) not found

4864 and 4865 do not exist, but 4764 and 4765 do exist but they do no exist in any .def file.
So is the signs.def supposed to point to 4764/5 instead of 4864/5 ?

oh my fault! sry

these are the right defs:

definetexture 4762 0 0 0 -1 -1 highres/sprites/signs/4762.png
definetexture 4763 0 0 0 -1 -1 highres/sprites/signs/4763.png
definetexture 4764 0 0 0 -1 -1 highres/sprites/signs/4764.png
definetexture 4765 0 0 0 -1 -1 highres/sprites/signs/4765.png

instead of 4862-4865...

So its nearly a year since this thread was touched. I hope nobody will do the wang on me if I re-ask the thread-creators question.
Are there any news on a full redistributable sw hrp file?
I just installed SW again for a bit of nostalgia and somebody pointed me to that one wonderful port that enabled cd music. So I wanted to grab a HRP on the way. 'Newest' I found was the 07-03-07 one. Does there exist any newer package? I also needed it to see if there are still textures needed, so maybe I could contribute some as well.

Thanks for your time

Until the last few weeks the Duke3D HRP had been running really slow also. . .it is a bad time for the community here of modelers and texture artists as far as free time to work on side projects like this.

I want to help but I lack the time due to real life. . .
