Question DNF classifications
Lets suppose that DNF gets released, What classification do you suppose DNF would get?

Becuase the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) are ran by arseholes that freak out when a game has an extreme level of violence and depictions nudity or drug use (an example of the latter was Fallout 3). R18+ games get refused classification and as a consequence the game is made illegal to buy or distribute in Australia and leads to some pretty hefty fines or jail time.

Yes it sucks that adults cant play video games and there have been numerous surveys conducted by both the gaming and normal communities showing that the ban should be lifted and even some politicians have submitted a relieve in classification but have been thrown out.

But anyone with an IQ above room tempreture and a fast internet connection can get around classifications and censorships.

Hell I passed the 50 mark a few years ago waiting for this game. Damn, I was in my mid forties when DNF dev was announced, I now have five grandkids, and am thinking about retirement. Talk about ****ing slow.

I wish you were my dad.

Anyway, I'm in Australia so I assume it'll probably get banned or censored, like how Duke3D was. No strippers or porn flicks for us! Later versions of the game came with a batch file and patch to restore the goodness though. Ah, memories.

I know, we get movies that show extreme violence or graphic nudity or even drug use and it will get either a MA15+ or R18+ rating but when the same content is shown in a video game the OFLC freak out and refuse to classify that game.

but considering many games that have had a 17+ or 18+ elsewhere have have had a rating of MA15+ (examples of this were The Witcher MA15+(18 from PEGI, BBFC, cut for ESRB for a M(17)) and Dead Rising, MA15+(18 from BBFC and PEGI),

Maybe they are worried that some weird white boy will shoot up his school because he played it on a game. Beware of the weird white boys around the ages 0f 11-19, they are scary.

Surprisingly we don't have that much of a problem with school shootings in Australia.

Yeah... guns are alot harder to obtain in Australia, and normally the kids that do have accsess to guns dont normally go to school.

if a kid cant play violent games without turning into a homicidal maniac then they deserve to be in prison for life.
