Have you had Pre-Order Problems?

Have you had problems placing a pre-order for the LCE, and with the figurine, and things like that? After talking to 2K about it today, they're interested in finding out which specific stores are saying things can't be ordered, don't have the figures, etc.

If you had such an experience trying to pre-order the game, please post here that store's information (name, location, etc), and what exactly the problem was. Thanks.

2K also tells me that more stores will be added to the pre-order program shortly; I'll have more on that when available.

EB Games here in Canada.
They are never sure whether they get the same offers as the americans. At times they do, other times, they don't.
I went through seomthing like that with F.E.A.R.. It took a while before the Pre-Order BETA dvd came in.
They said they would call as soon as they get the figurines and/or hand them out when I pick up the game.

Yeah, but which SPECIFIC store? That's the issue. Just saying EB Games in Canada isn't helpful, as I need the store specifics.

Just got off the phone with "Nick" the clerk whom told me they haven't recieved any of the pewter figures and probably won't get any until the game ships. I'm kinda erked by it but I'm glad you guys are actively looking into these problems.

That doesn't count as an "ordering problem" - they weren't offered outside North America.

Ahh yes, that's true...

So in order to get the LCE and all the figurines, i'd have to order it from the US, to Denmark... (which is where i live)

Unless the EB games store i know, actually preordered the actual US versions, and sell them in thier stores... But i doubt that...
Might still be worth taking a look though...

All it says is that the Pre-order box and Mutate figure are back ordered.

Well, I have had my LCE copy preordered from EB Games' website since May 29th, and I still haven't gotten anything in the mail yet with a figurine. I'm wondering how that would work?

I called the Best Buy in Puyallup WA. They had no clue about Pre-orders.

Well I went to my Bestbuy and took the box up to the counter, they handed me my receipt and I just left. Were they suppose to ask me something?

No. Procedure that's standard at best buy is to turn in the preorder reciept at customer service upon the game's release and get your discount.

Had a problem at BestBuy preordering the PC LCE (PM'd Joe).
And didnt get the Mutate figure when I preordered the PC LCE at GameStop.

FYI, I got an email from one of my contacts at 2K about this thread. Here is what he said:

For the figurine, all retailers participating in the program will give
you the figurine when you pick up the game. EXCEPT for Best Buy, there
they have comp boxes with the figurine inside, currently for PC and
later this month for Xbox 360. This is while supplies last.

EDIT: I'm asking because they themselves don't know. They say at times they get the same deals as you yanks, but it's never a sure thing. They never find out until really close to the release date.

So, just so I don't have to worry anymore...if I pre-ordered Prey on 6/6/06 from EbGames and they apparently "had never heard of anything about any figurine" (that's what the 4 employees said) I'm still pretty much guaranteed that I will receive the Mutate figurine when I go to pick up the game, right?
