Music that goes with Duke
Gday,
As most of you know, Eduke32's high quality music using openAL is still having a few of its bugs ironed out.

So today I decided to see what music from my own collection goes well playing in the background whilst I bust up all those aliens. So far I've found that anything from the band Kyuss (old-school stoner rock, some of whom's members became Queens of the Stoneage) worked really well at adding a cool, charged atmosphere, without drawing away your attention too much.

I was wondering if anyone else has found other bands/music types which compliment their duke experience.

I know that music taste is a very personal thing, so the idea of finding the "best" duke music (besides the original music of course) is kind of pointless. I'm more interested to know what music others like to use as their soundtrack for kicking ass.

Most of those bands sometimes sing christian music.

I always thought Maintain Consciousness by Relient K went with Dukeburger.

Also, Kevin Max - Trouble of the World for Red Light District.

http://www.skillet.com

They ARE christian. They are just christian metal and rock. (except Rob Zombie ofcourse)

Edit: Some people think christian music is all soft, check out POD or Skillet some time.

Its actually some pretty good stuff.

Yeah, with name like "Rob Zombie" I could tell he wouldn't be singing christian music.

Back on topic:

Crazy Train - Ozzy Ozbourne for Stadium.

Anything from the following bands goes for me:
(aswell as a playlist with various versions grabbag repeating )

Amon Amarth
Pantera
Ad Hominem
Manowar
Stormwarrior
Demonoid
Elite (the norwegian one)
Wolfnacht

While I think a lot more black metal types really kick ass, I dont feel that they really fit into Dukes style. Dukes style is more heavy metal/very heavy rock types of music. The few bands in this list that can be defined as black metal have some of that heavy feel to it that I think is Duke.
