Re: Gearbox DNB
I believe it's "2k Games" that is developing DNB.

Quote:
On October 22, 2007, Apogee, Take-Two, and 2K Games entered into an agreement in which Apogee granted 2K Games the exclusive right to develop and publish a new videogame based upon Apogee’s Duke Nukem franchise… The new game was given the working title of “Duke Begins” and is not the same game as the DNF game…

The original development schedule for the Duke Begins game provided that the game was to be completed and commercially released by mid-2010…

Take Two and/or its subsidiary 2K Games halted or otherwise cancelled all development work by the third-party game developer on the Duke Begins game in April 2009… without Apogee’s approval or consent…

When Apogee confronted Take-Two and 2K Games about the… cancellation of the Duke Begins development work… Take-Two and 2K Games simply denied it… Take-Two and 2K Games are taking such actions with a goal of pressuring Apogee to sell the Duke Nukem franchise rights to Take-Two for less than their true value.
In regards to DNF still in production, draw your own conclusion from this.

Quote:
"Apogee admits that it has continually worked on the development of the DNF for many years, and continues to do so." An earlier and related clause states: "Apogee [...] admits that on May 6, 2009, due to lack of funding to sustain the high level of development work on the DNF game, it released the majority of its employees working on the development of the DNF game. Apogee denies that it announced it was closing or halting business operations."

3dr is still developing DNF, according to 3dr's press release. Shack News confirmed Gearbox is developing DNB.

DNF is still in "development" as it was never officially "cancelled". I'd rather call it on "hiatus" until the court case is heard/settled. And the court case is at least a year away if not more. What's another year, eh?

If they can get DNF running again before the lawsuit is over why wait?

There is no dev-team for DNF, and DNB development has been halted for the time being. So, nothing is getting done.

there was this recent quote where HH said that they doesn't know something about Prey 2 and we have to ask Radar...Kristian?

Maybe HH halted Prey 2 to continue to work on DNF.

Yeah, right. That'b be pretty stupid to do. Because they would have to start over with Prey 2 once DNF is finished.

What they are or aren't developing is at the discretion of publishers who pay them. It doesn't make HH stupid if the folks signing their checks tell them to make a change.
