Keen Gun Boxed Apogee Games on eBay
Hey all,

I've been doing some summer cleaning, and unfortunately it's come time to get rid of some of my old games, including some boxed Apogee games. Up on eBay I have Alien Carnage, Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold, and Blake Stone: Planet Strike.

And, though it's technically not an Apogee game (though if I remember correctly they did re-sell it at one time), I have up a copy of Commander Keen VI: Aliens Ate My Baby Sitter!, which I'm sure is of interest to a few people that still visit this section of the forum.

It's sad to let them go, but hopefully they can find a home that'll love them as much as I have!

Very interesting, I'm curious of how high that Commander Keen box will go. Thanks for the tip, I posted those auctions at my forum too.

Excellent stuff... the Keen is of substantial value. I hope the right people find it. I don't collect Keen, but I will try to spread the word also... Iggy already has, which is how I found it. He is just cool like that.

You'd probably get more for them if you just check out other eBay store listings with the buy it now, and just set it slightly lower for 30 days.

Sometimes with collectibles you just won't get a number of aggressive bidders and it's better to just set your price a bit lower than the other guy.

In fact, you'll see some people set it real high - like $50-$60
They are hoping to leave it there until any others are sold out, and somebody wanders by and swoops it up.

While that's true, I'm not really looking to rip anybody off. I bought all of these games for ~$5 some years ago, so that's the price I decided to begin the auctions at. Commander Keen's the only one I expect to sell for a decently high price (and eBay's so fickle that it's hard to guess what that price will be). I'm a gamer, not a merchant.

Also, thanks Iggy for spreading the word.

You mean like they do with new games ?

Considering that there is probably not many in existance, anything you get for them is a really fair deal.

I dunno - nice of you to throw them up there for us, and it looks like you've got some interest already.

I am shocked how low that Keen went. I was second bidder and I was playing around with that one. I estimated $150+.

Perhaps the demand for it isn't as great as you thought. The last copy I saw on eBay went for $50, so to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the selling price of mine is almost an understatement.

Maybe it is the specific episodes/versions of the game. I have seem some sell for hundreds on eBay, but I don't price non-FPS's, so I have no record other than memory.
I am glad you are happy with the selling price!
Even though I was second bidder, the winning bidder could have bid a much greater amount also.

Jeez, I have about 2 dozen apogee/epic boxes sitting at home.

I didn't realize that this could be a gold mine.

Yeah lemm, if you no longer have space/no longer care for them, there are definitely a lot of people on the internet that will.

On a related note, I have one more copy of Commander Keen VI that I've put up on eBay, though it's disks-only this time.

I'm looking forward on getting my hands on Shaddow Warrior, the original retail version. Ordered from Ebay of course used but in decent condition

Man, I love my Shadow Warrior red box. I found it at $25 on Amazon, with the jewel case and manual, inside. It's great.
