\"Previously\" Cinematic troubles
Im having some problems with the "previously on Max Payne" option in the main screen.
In the beginning when I played it Id get choppy sound and a white blur. Then I updated my graphics drivers (for Geforce FX 5600). That fixed the picture (aswell as the tecture corruption in full-on bullettime), but it still lags like a madman.
The movie, and the sounds with it, lag extremely, like 1 frame every 2 or 3 seconds. Its madness. Ive got all options all the way up, and everything else runs fine. Even tried the lowest settings, but its the same problem over and over.

Anyone got an idea how to fix this?

What processor and other hardware? I've seen bink movies lag on slower hardware before..

Oh, and image based sigs aren't allowed here. Remove it. Your name is written next to your post -- we do not need a huge picture stating it.

Re: \"Previously\" Cinematic troubles
These are my specs:

AMD XP 2800+
512 MB RAM
Direct X 9b
Geforce FX 5600XT 256 MB
Nvidia display drivers 6.14.0010.5216
Realtek AC97 Audio

Ive had a bink movie lag before, but that was when it ran off a CD. When I copied it to disk it ran fine. Other Bink movies also ran fine.

P.S. great work on the Cinema mod!

What operating system? Try installing newer drivers -- there's a good set here. Note that just because the link is on eVGA.com doesn't mean that the drivers only work on eVGA cards -- they work on all NVIDIA cards. I'm using them on my XP SP2 beta machine and having no problems with Max Payne 2 with them.

Well, as I half expected, that worked terrible. It completely ****** up my display settings. I never trust unofficial drivers. Thank god I still had the folder of my old drivers so it wasnt too hard to reinstall. (Win XP btw)

Uh, those are about as official as they get. They're WHQL certified -- that's Microsoft's somewhat extensive testing and certification that they work fine.

Completely ****** up your display settings how?

Re: \"Previously\" Cinematic troubles
YOU'RE MY SAVIOR! no really, the drivers did the trick. It musta been circumstances, cos when I installed the drivers again 2day everything was hunky-dory. weird. The Previously cinematic works fine now. Thanks for your help!

PS, by unofficial, I meant gotten from a site other than the official NVIDIA site. Ive no idea why they arent there yet. Even the drivers I was using before this (56.16) arent on there, they came from the GFX5600 install cd.
I dunno, I guess Im a bit edgy about drivers. They've ****** with me before in the past. Strange errors, low resolutions and retarded color schemes, Ive seen it all b4

muy bien gracias, adios!

Actually it's a bug in binkw32.dll! I've seen games suffer like mad after applying a new version of it!
