Confirmed. Sam Lake acted as the model for the characters in Address Unknown, Lords & Ladies, and believe or not, even Dick Justice (never underestimate the power of wigs and skin paint).

Some people may have been upset about not seeing Sam Lake in the game any more (as Max Payne was to be played by Timothy Gibbs), but hey, he's still in the game. The other man seen in the series was Marko Saaresto, who is also behind the vocals in "Late Goodbye" in the credits.

okay.....i have to admit.......the first episode of dick justice in vlad's warehouse....where dick is holding his dead wife.....that looked just like the graphic novel-picture of sam/max holding his wife in max payne episode 1

Heh, I was almost expecting www.addressunknown.tv to lead to a real (err.. phony) website. But if you try going there, it just leads to the official MP2 site.

I knew it was him in Address Unknown and Lords and Ladies right away.

. . . But he was Dick Justice, too? Kick ass.

He even plays the face of Mama! (It sounds like Jane Gennaro supplies her voice -- she was the one who did Nicole Horne in 1.)

Any Chance Timothy Gibs will play Max Payne in the movie version?

Here is a picture of Gibs.

For those who don't know, "Dick Justice" was what Remedy was originally going to call the character. I imagine they felt it lacked a certain subtlety so they went with Max Payne instead.

I love how they used the Dick Justice TV show to poke fun at themselves!

"It was raining hard, like all the angles in heaven decided to take a piss. When you've been through hell and back, metaphors are all you have left."

"My face was a permanent constipated grin. I was revenge personafied."

Max Heat was also another possible name they threw around. The commercial for that is hilarious!

Re: Address Unknown
I thought that the Address Unknown stuff was cool, but in the end it just made me realise again how much I'd rather see the original Max in the game. I don't think it would have mattered to a movie audience that the faces didn't match, and I don't think it matters too much to them if it does either.

If you look at the graphic novels in MP1 you can tell its Sam Lake, but it isn't an exact copy of him. I'd have rather just seen a higher detail Max in MP2 that was worked around what was in the graphic novels of the first one. Still bearing the resemblance to Sam, but matching the storyboard character. The Max Payne in the second doesn't look at all like he could have fit the character of the first story.

If you guys at Remedy ever think about doing any bonus material or something, it would be really cool to get an updated Max model but of Sam Lake in the old clothes just for nostalgia. Even if it doesn't always match the story, like when blood is added later on, etc. .............

---

Oh, also. Is it just me or in the graphic novel section where Max gets in a car with Vlad after the police station, is there a panel where Vlads face looks a lot like Sam Lake?

Re: Address Unknown
What would be cool is if someone made an "Address Unknown" Mod.

call it the "mirrorSarEmorEfuNtheNtelevisioNmoD"

The flamingos aren't telling me to say this, er i think i'm dead, no, he's coming, death is coming, AAAAhhhhhahah .

ok sane again, or someone could make a GTA 3 or VC Mod. Driving around good ole'noir york city trying to find john mirra and answering pay phones giving you clues to where he is while dodging the Pink Flamingo Mental Institute.

"Look out! He's got the drill!"

An Address Unknown mod would kick ass. Definitely my favorite tv show in max payne 2.

It would be an interesting challenge for map makers to have things be more surreal and off kilter. One long dream sequence, but without the blurry filter as that would get old quick. It would also necessitate a sam lake skin, which can't be bad.

Re: Address Unknown
I liked the Max Payne 1 character better than the Max Payne 2. Max in Payne 2 looks too old. The Max in Payne 1 looks like a tough cop. Even with his smirk.

Not all of us can speak with Finnish accents. Even on words I'm still struggling with English
