Re: 3d modeling?
Many of the models done so far were modeled with blender.
There are even a few help and ressources threads. If you don't find anything here, you might want to have a look inside the "Duke nukem 3D Source Code" Forum. There's tons of hints and resources |

Re: 3d modeling?
UV mapping or materials? I hope you mean UV mapping.
How far are you into UV Mapping?

Re: 3d modeling?
There should be a UV mapping tutorial around somewhere on these boards. I think TeaMonster had one.
edit: dead link in tutorial thread in Duke Source Code forum will do you no good. Basically in edit mode you need to make seams on edges and then in uv face select mode you press "u" with all or some of the faces selected (pink-ish) and a menu comes up on your pointer with all sorts of choices, pick "unwrap" if you have the latest Blender build (2.42). otherwise it is something more complex of a title but does the same thing. That then unwraps your model and where you put the seams is where the edges are not connected on the UV Map. This can all be seen and moved around in the UV/Image Editor screen.
