Windows 7 upgrade in a cheap 3 pack!
Dell just recently added this product:

Quote:
Microsoft Corporation
WIN7 HOME PREMIUM UPG FAMILY PACK -1 license for 3 PCs, NOTE: 3 purchases allowed per end customer only

Market Value1 $149.99
Total Savings $10.00

Dell Price $139.99
That's about $47 per machine

I wonder if we'll also see a retail price drop in Win 7 across the board

This package was available at Windows 7's launch.

just a relaunch to collect more money. microsoft has never really done any "retail price drops" across any product line. it is not a game with a limited shelf life.

If you know someone with an .edu email address you can get win7 pro for $30.

I actually saw one of these packs at Best Buy today, so I know they exist now. That's good if you have a desktop, a laptop, and want to use the other as a virtual OS, or something. Something along those lines.

Now Amazon has it for $133 - just seems a lot cheaper than what I'm used to for a MS OS

Got it, and the free ones from the Elms site that MS sponsers for my school.

I work at a large corporation, and we just got an offer for employees to buy personal copies of MS Office 2007 for $9.95 for their home computers.

Before it was released, Amazon had a deal where you could get
up to three copies, per person, of Windows 7 Home Premium
upgrade, or Windows 7 Professional upgrade, for either
$50 or $100 each.

Seeing how a single upgrade, once it came out, would cost around
$125-$150, I just went ahead and bought 3 copies of Home Premium.

Guess what? The Family Pack is back!

If anyone's in need of a Windows 7 license, check this out:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...V2MG0/73407921

Win 7 Premium Upgdade box - "Family Pack". Be legal with Win 7 on three computers - box costs $99. Hell of a deal. No idea how long it will last, though.

Yeah, I bet that Microsoft's doing that to get back at Apple for offering their Mac OSX Family Pack, most likely. At least this is probably one of the cheaper ways of owning Win 7 for a small 3-man studio most likely. :P
