Hosting hard to find TC's

A few days ago nitro404 posted a list of TC's he has in the Evil People TC thread. Many of them I had not come across before and I would like to host them. I have already added Armageddon: Gang Wars, Desert Storm, Orion Prime and Terrorist Terror to my Duke site. If nitro404 or anyone else will upload them to megaupload, rapidshare, angelfire, or another hosting site I will download them and add them to my site. I am adding the list to my next post.

Listed below are some of the TC's I do not have yet or I have under a different name. They are from the list provided by Nitro404. I will delete them from this list as I get them. I can also add any requests to this list if you want. The only thing I would ask is if you upload multiple TC's in one zip to try to keep it around 20MB. Thank you eddy

7/16/08 Thanks to dcxboxfreak I was able to delete 14 of them from the list today. And 3drealms still has Lameduke. I just got it today.
7/17/08 Added the Evil People TC to the list and removed 5 more TC's thanks to dcxboxfreak.
7/17/08 Thats 4 more done thanks to dcxboxfreak.

Its great someone sent you these tcs but where are the original files, these mods have been messed with, and the included text files are missing.

That list is the TC's I do NOT have. I know that the ones nitro404 uploaded were not all the original files. At this point I would take anything I can get that runs. I spent over 6 months searching for Duke TC's to play and a lot of them can't be found anymore. I would rather save what I can before they are gone forever.

Edit: I forgot to add that the text file can often be found in the grp. In the future if the text file is missing I will extract the text file and add it to the zip before I host it.

I will host any old TCs/maps/whatever on the EDuke32 wiki if anyone is interested. A lot of the ones you're looking for might be available on http://wiki.eduke32.com/duke3d/tc/ as well.

I've got everything from that site I think. Plus Gamers.org, Filefront, Proasms site, DNR, RTCM, etc. The only place I know I did not download from was Fileplanet.

Edit: And Corvin and Terminx we could all use this thread so that the files could be hosted at RTCM and wiki.eduke32. The more hosting sites the better.

I really prefer only original files to be hosted on RTCM, but we'll see what I can do.

I'm in the processes of moving files around to better support the growth so some links maybe down for a day or so if your looking.

I still have to upload the old dukeworld files, but even a few of those are outdated as some of the mods received updates after its closing. I'm in the process of adding the updates to those files and prepping them for upload. I'm not chastising them tho.

I also found a few mods I believe on that list, the only thing is the archives are corrupt, so I'm hesitant to upload the repaired ones.

Also i'm not sure if this is the topic to post a question like this but on the rtcm website there is a doctor who daleks 3d mod. I love the show doctor who and would like to know if this ever got finished or if there is another doctor who mod for duke nukem 3d. I would also love to have those tc's on that list.

I agree that it would be best to have the original files. That's what I would prefer to host also. It's just that this topic comes up every so often and then people seem to forget about it until someone else mentions it in a thread. I was just hoping that this time we could follow through and actually get some of them hosted.

Is this mod for DOS duke1.5 or ONLY eduke32?

I'm having a hard time categorizing this mod, do you have the original file for this?

It should work for both versions but I recommend Eduke.
That is the original file listed there. (Unless im not understanding what you mean)

Geoffrey released all his maps a long time ago in a pack because the project got abandoned but this download is all the files and maps (including Geoffreys) that werent released.

All I'm saying is I might have to just put this C&C mod in the eduke32 mod folder rather than the dos duke1.5 mod folder at rtcm. Kinda limits who can play it, It may get passed over by dos and jfduke users.

Please people don't include hack registered exe's(use a patch prg instead) or don't include exes of source ports it just makes the archive bigger and more confusing.

I just updated the list based on the TC's dcxboxfreak uploaded. I was going to wait until I downloaded them all and tested them out first. And thank you for the links. It's funny that I was looking for Lameduke again after reading a thread about it in this forum and found it at 3drealms. I somehow missed Retribution-No Regret at Filefront also I guess. As far as FilePlanet is concerned their download manager is not compatible with my OS.

Edit: I just checked and I do have Castle Dukenstein. In fact I have versions 5.0, 5.3 and 6.12. The Dukenstein on the list is probably the same TC. It's hard to tell the correct TC name sometimes. I removed it. And as far as Duke Caribbean is concerned I thought it might be a demo version. Thats the only reason I left it there. I have never heard of a demo for Caribbean though.

Lolwtf? What is it with people and having problems with fileplanet, you dont need the dl manager for any of those files, afaik they dont use it on old small files.

You click download, sign in with an easily created free acct, pick a free dl server and it just gives direct links to the files

, blah either way, just in case it magically dont work i downloaded all those i found and stuck em on my server here...

I tried FilePlanet a couple of times in the past and gave up. But if you say I don't need to use the download manager I will try again tomorrow. Also some of the files, like CraniumPAK I have a copy of but it does not work/load correctly, and New World I did get from Filefront but I thought it was a single level map not a TC demo. And thank you for the offer to host the files. I will let you know how I make out.

I tried the link For Duke is Ten and it works. And all this time I was pissed at FilePlanet. Thank You!

Edit: And I just hit the edit limit for the TC list I guess. If I ever start a thread like this again it might be an idea to make a dummy post before the list. That way when I hit the edit limit I could copy what was left on the list up one post. Anyway the updated list is below!

The War Is The Life was never released. I used to be good friends with the guy who was making it (back when Dukeworld was still around). Think he got married and had a kid, no clue what happened to him after that.

Just to let you know I have downloaded all the TC's that were provided by the good people here. I am not updating my site at the moment because I was offered hosting space on another site and don't want to make any changes as we see how that works out. I am playing them, taking screenshots, and writing a review for each TC in the meantime. Thanks again, Eddy

What is it with people and having problems with fileplanet, you dont need the dl manager for any of those files, afaik they dont use it on old small files. eddym4814	Re: Hosting hard to find TC's I tried FilePlanet a couple of times in the past and gave up. But if you say I don't need to use the download manager I will try again tomorrow. Also some of the files, like CraniumPAK I have a copy of but it does not work/load correctly, and New World I did get from Filefront but I thought it was a single level map not a TC demo. And thank you for the offer to host the files. I will let you know how I make out.

I am not updating my site at the moment because I was offered hosting space on another site and don't want to make any changes as we see how that works out.
