VNC/remote desktop without VPN?
Does anyone know of any program that would me remotely access a home computer without having to set up a VPN? One way to do this (assuming that both ends have an Internet connection) would be to have a third computer (i.e., a server) be the mediator. Does anyone know if such a program or service exists?
Thanks. |

Re: VNC/remote desktop without VPN?
Remote desktop doesn't require VPN. It is just an optional security layer.

Qnext at qnext.com does it well - and other stuff too but I only used the 'Remote PC Access' when I was 3000kms away from home.

Re: VNC/remote desktop without VPN?
Thanks, I was looking for something like that.
I just realized that it could also be used to access my company's intranet without having to use my company-issued laptop (which uses a special VPN client). Of course, I probably shouldn't be doing that without asking first because many employers have policies against using unauthorized software on office computers. |
