I need help with VDMSound!

I don't know exactly where on this forum to post a question about VDMSound for Rise of the Triad, but I am hoping this is the right place. I have been trying to run ROTT on Windows 2000 and am doing so unsuccessfully because there is no sound. I found out about VDMSound and so I downloaded it. Now here is my problem: The little walkthrough on this site about how to use VDMSound is based on a Windows XP system. When I try to open ROTT using VDMSound there is no wizard that comes up like there is on the walkthrough. I don't know if that's exclusive for Windows XP or if it's supposed to come up on Windows 2000 as well. Even when I open ROTT with VDMSound there is still no sound. This was an old game I loved to play and I recently bought it again for nostalgic reasons, but now I can't play it and I'd appreciate any kind of help as to how I can get the VDMSound to work properly with ROTT. Thank you.

I'm not sure, but I think you are referring to the original dos
version of rott, if so, there is no need for all of that trouble,
just click on the link in my sig, and you can download a
version of rott designed to run on windows systems.
You will need to already have the registered and/or
shareware game data files to play winrott, the current
version is 2.19, you can alos get the current source code if
your interested..

Thanks, I will try this. But the version of ROTT that I have is on CD-ROM. I don't know if that makes any difference.

My original dos version of rott is also on a cd-rom (darkwar).

Thank you. It did not work when I first opened it, but it said it could not find certain files, but those files were on the CD-ROM. I just copied and pasted them into the folder containing your program and it worked, sound and all! Thank you once again, I do appreciate it.

Theres also dosbox in case your interested. It works perfectly for me using it.
