phylox registered version? any hope?
Ok, instead of posting in a 3 year old thread, I figured I'd ask for this in a new thread:

I have been after a registered copy of phylox for some time now, and (curse me) I just passed out on an opportunity to ask the programmer himself if it would be possible to preserve the full version... Curse me!

As such, I was wondering if someone here could either provide me a registered version (ancientcoder, are you still here?), or link me with someone capable of doing so? I would greatly appreciate!

Awaiting your advice! many thanks!

mikael.

You could try PMing him or something.

ancientcoder has not been here for some time now!

However I did send him a PM. No answer so far. Joe siegler seems to know him: I've sent him also a PM but nothing...

In case you didn’t know, Ancientcoder is Andy Edwardson, the programmer of Wacky Wheels. He’s notoriously difficult to get a hold of these days. A few years back, Joe emailed him asking to interview him, and Andy didn’t respond for months. (The interview is here, by the way.) I don’t think you’re going to have much luck contacting him.

Someone who knows about Phylox may yet wander by this forum, or you could try other forums for old DOS games.

Interesting: the fact of having a full name for him already helps me to an extent. thanks for that!

However, given the fact that several persons share the same name, I was wondering if joe could perhaps forward me his email so I could try to contact him: I would like to get the chance to preserve his phylox title before it fades to oblivion.

Not a chance. I do not give out developer's private info.

in that case, perhaps the contrary? could you notify him of that thread and/or forward him my email so we can talk about this?

I am curious as to who really owns the rights to this game considering Beavis Soft went out of business and sold the game to a "dubious game distributor".

I too: as I hope they'll have the senses to release it in order to preserve it! Speaking f which, who might be that distributor?
