They are going to need a good script, storyline with character development. They will also need to make it simple easy for the non Duke Nukem fans to figure it out. Maybe write a book first then the film can be based on that.

Sure, a Duke Nukem movie could be awesome.

While optimally it'd be out around when DNF is out, they don't necessarily have to line up. For example, I noticed there was no new Hitman game when the Hitman movie came out, that dev team released a Kane & Lynch game that year instead. Also, there hadn't been a Silent Hill game for years when the movie hit. More publicity is always a good thing at any time.

I've sometimes given thought to it, imagined how a Duke movie could be done, and I think it could be sweet. It'd be easy even.


It could be loosely based on Duke Nukem 3D, but very loosely. I'd start it out with Duke's ride getting shot down, and he finds those alien bastards are stealing our chicks, plus of course they've gotta pay for shooting down his ride.

Then bam, over-the-top action adventure comedy sci-fi, it practically writes itself. Take the movie A-Team for example, it just gets right into it and gives us these over-the-top characters with cartoonish catchphrases and mannerisms, but it's done in a way so we buy it. Duke could be even better than that flick I'd say. Especially if its Rated R, then we can splatter aliens everywhere, throw some nudity from the females in there, etc. Maybe a dash of the over-the-top hyper style of the Crank movies.

Over-the-top being the key to a Duke film. Gotta have many fine one-liners, and an actor playing Duke who can seem like he believes the absurdity of his character.

Also, I really dig that part where Duke goes to jal in Duke 3D and escapes the electric chair. It's beautiful, movies need some part where the hero is in a grim situation in the middle of the story, and it's always epic in movies when the hero goes to prison in the middle. Put that in there.

Also, Duke would have to get laid at least four times in the film, since James Bond generally gets laid twice, gotta top him. Well, that's how I'd write it anyway.

And hey, why not throw the Bombshell character in there, the badass chick who Duke runs into a few times who is immune to Duke's advances (until the credits roll that is).

Long story short, a Duke movie could be a lot of fun. And the premise of an over-the-top sci-fi action movie, like say Gamer, well it's usually a good time.

Well duh... Duke3D's fame was far too long ago for anyone to give a shit about a Duke Nukem movie. If a movie is ever made, I predict it coming out somewhere around 2015.

I believe your referring to Dragon Ball Evolution. If so, it wasn't based on Dragon Ball Z. It was based on Dragon Ball.

Even still, the movie didn't look right at all either way. But the storyline was somewhat around what DB was, not DBZ

A Duke Nukem movie could be a lot of fun but it all comes down to budget. It would be awesome if it was a big blockbuster movie like Independence Day or something but a studio now-a-days would never fork over that kind of cash for a Video Game Movie...

You'd probably have the budget of the DooM movie... so... what kind of Duke story can you make with that? Must be smaller scale... not so big. You could get someone like Robert Rodriguez to make it who knows how to get the most bang out of his buck... but not many people are good with money like he is in the movie industry.

Although the DooM movie sucked as hard as it did, the special effects were good enough to fulfill that of a decent Duke movie. Just as long as the actor portraying Duke was good and they don't stray too far from source material.

All he needs to finish the look is a cigar, some ray ban's, and of course some babes, bullets, and bombs.

Perlam has the attitude to play Duke and he also smokes cigars regularly but I donèt think he has the Duke look... at least not in the face.

If I'm correct, back in the late 90's, wasn't there an actual dedicated website to a Duke Nukem film? Though, from what I remember, it had Asians in the screen-caps...

Not sure if it was indi or not, but whatever happened to that?

There was a Duke Nukem Movie site run by Dimension Films from 1999 to 2006, yeah. The only "asian" that ever appeared on it was when the page suddenly dissappeared and was replaced with porn, though.

That was around the same time that George released his "teaser" of DNF running on the Atari 2600.

The point wasnt the hair. The point was that everything but the hair is pretty close, and then in that one picture hes actually sporting a fairly close Duke look. A hairdresser/haircut could easily bring him the rest of the way.
