To be honest, I don't work on this stuff everyday. First, there's the available time I have, and second, there's the ambition to want to work on it.
Secondly, I'm having another person help me out a lot with the code, and he also has much to do. That is why I just recently released the 32-bit version of my screen saver, to help for compatibility for the newer operating systems, and to do away with the Windows 3.1 version. It would be different if I had two other programmers dedicated to the task and we all got paid. The simple fact is, we only do this for the heck of it. While I have been given much support from Joe out of his busy schedule to help me get material for my screen saver, I have put my own money into the project simply for the fans of the Dopefish. The only reason I bought Visual Basic 5.0 was for the screen saver. I may eventually release some other free software that has nothing to do with the Dopefish at some time too, but my first reason to get VB5 was the Dopefish Screen Saver. I understand that some people are anxiously awaiting the next big release due to the many new features in it, me more than anyone else, but it all requires time, research, and the effort to put it all together, test it, and make it work. |
