just for fun... i read that "lo Wang" joke by Kalki in this thread, and came to think of something rather amusing...

The street i live on, is called Højvang... "Høj" on Danish is the word for "high"
"vang" doesn't mean anything particularly... just something like a street name ala "avenue" or simply "street"

I guess it's obvious already, that i want to say, that my street sounds frightingly much like a Low Wang big Brother:
High Wang

I loved Shadow Warrior. Not as much as Duke. The attitude of Duke is what made it really fun.

Sadly Lo Wang is probably seen as a racial sterotype and as such won't be gracing a PC monitor again for quite a while.

That's not why. The fact that it was "insensitive" had nothing to do with it. Duke isn't exactly PC either.

Then what is the reason? If it's not top-secret, you could tell us.

joes not the person your going to get that info from check stats on a major game sights if they go back that far or maby a old GTinterative report to stock holders (that would be a incompleat listing but would give you some idea) but there is no reason that 3DR would releace stats on what game sold better then others

Well enough. The conventional wisdom said this game was a failure and bombed. That is incorrect. Did it sell as much as Duke Nukem 3D did? No of course it didn't, but that doesn't automatically mean "failure" or "bad seller", although the zealots online will tell you that.

Want numbers? Sorry, not everything is info meant for the public you know. We are, after all, a privately held company. We're not obligated to say anything.

There was no real level over level improvement in SW, it was a trick. for example, if you look at a lower room you look at kind of mirror-texture which shows that room like the display of a monitor. it was really hard to make a level with that room-over-room feature, i always had problems with that feature in build.

but hey, lo wang is not dead! just take a look at the download section and get the wanton destruction addon, it works fine with the actual win32 port (start with the ".../sw.exe /g gt.grp" commandline, chose the code of honor and not the shareware episode and have fun!) ...well, the levels gonna have the wrong names, but what you gonna play are the WD levels, so who cares about the names and best-times?

But but, 3D Realms can't do that, if they don't mean to do a SW game because they feel ashame of it at least they can create a new label called Shadow Wizards, in which they do games as Shadow Warrior, and s remake of this other build game named Seven Paladines. Ha, ha! they at least should try one more with classics as SW, BioMenace and much others that seems cool to me and many others.

Although I prefer Duke Nukem over Lo Wang in terms of character, I actually enjoyed Shadow Warrior more than Duke Nukem 3D. If, by some miracle, a sequel to Shadow Warrior were ever to be made I would wholeheartedly support it via my wallet.
