Tell me about it. It's Impossible took me almost twice as long as most of the other levels. I expect that Derelict will take about four hours based on how long most have taken me so far.

It's worse in co-op, as when you die, you have to go all the way back to the start of the level. In single player on the 360, you can at least use the replay system.

Where you gotta go through the room where the ceiling collapses, then fight in a small room, go through a grate you goota bust, fall into the water filled with octobrains, find the switch to open the door to get out before the 2 walls squish you.

This? It's Critical Mass.

That level caused us some problems in development. Playing in co-op was a problem, because if someone went up the stairwell at the start, it would collapse, and then if you died, you went back to the beginning. Since the stairwell was down, you were stuck, you couldn't go anywhere.

In Dukematch, this level has a teleport there to avoid the problem, but co-op did not. This was the only level that we went back into the game data and changed it - specifically for this scenario. Co-op has access to the teleporter in the first room to get around the collapsed stair problem.

Movie Set has a similar problem in Episode 3 with a collapsing stair blocking an exit to the end level, but there's another way out of that level, so it was left alone.

It's that I never see him, can never figure out how to get him , he just shoots rockets at me through the wall and I can't get to him. Thought maybe there was a room behind the wall or something. (talking about the wall behind the yellow key) Dunno if it's just a quirk when I play, but I hear him, the rockets come out the wall behind where the yellow key is, and I can never get him.

With the help of Mapster32, I think I figured out the elusive final secret, you need the jetpack to get it!
duke0002.jpg
in the control room that has the chair with the access code on the arms, there is a room with pipebombs to the right/left depending on the way you entered, the teleport is opposite this room, enter the room and activate the jetpack, now fly on up to the secret room.

Joe, I have found another secret on the level, Rabid Transit. I'm not sure if you're after secrets which do not have the sector tag for a secret. I'm certain you know about it anyway

I think Joe is primarily looking for just the secrets that count when you finish the level. Which means all the secrets need to have the sector lo-tag 32767.

Mapster32 really helped in this case because all the secret room sector tags are clearly marked in 2d. there is also a find sector lotag feature (alt+F7) that is sorta buggy but worked for me.

That's it - THANK YOU! I'm sure we would have eventually found it, but that's a big time saver.

What stuns me is EVERY FAQ for the last 12 years has it wrong. On top of that it appears that every FAQ has copied every other faq, and that nobody has checked up on it until now!

Steve, I'm not looking for every single object. Just things specifically recognized as "secret areas" by the game. This is stated at the top of the sections text on each level in the walkthrough.

In the walkthrough for Area 51, the 5th secret is described as "right next to the sixth", even though the sixth is apparently further inside the fifth. Shouldn't that read "right next to the fourth" instead?

I don't mean to fuss about this, but ummm.
I think it would be more fun if you had to figure out how to beat the game ur self, also the secrets, they are secrets for a reason, to be found, not to be told.

Although I really do appreciate it and it shows y'all care for the community, and I give y'all a Thumbs up for that.

Walkthroughs are understandable, but why tell all the secrets?
That's one thing that kept me playing so long as a kid and that was trying to find the secrets .

Joe mentioed the secrets at the end of all the 'how to beat the level' descriptions... So it's easy to pass by that without being spoiled at all...
