Hi there, I was wondering whether it is illegal to use dopefish (as hidden something offcource) in a game, should I ask premission? (and who should I ask that question?)

Yes, the dopefish is copyrighted. You have to get permission form id, they probably have a contact page somewhere at www.idsoftware.com
