Duke Nukem Army v2.0
hey folks. I dont know if anyone can still remember dukearmy 1.0 (was released in 2001) but this week I finished the first version of dukearmy 2 that is ready for the public.
Its built and tested on eduke32 with duke atmoic 1.5. So I may should introduce my TC a little bit before posting screenshots and download link: DukeArmy 2.0 is designed to be a multiplayer TC (for now single player isnt done yet), I know that almost nobody is playing duke3d over the internet, but from time to time maybe over lan or whatever. So dont say "crap no single player blabla" single player is the next thing I want to do know, but it will take about 4 months until I will release the first episode. The TC changes duke3d to an army style game. Its not realism based, its more based on what splatter movies are: gore effects, big weapons. Multiplayer can be played in 4 game modes (just choose deathmatch and when the level starts you will be prompted to choose a game mode): normal deathmatch team deathmatch capture the flag hill defending Plus in the last 3 game modes you can choose between 2 teams, each team has 50 soldiers. When the game objective is reached or soldier live count is at zero the round is over. Weaponry consist of 8 different weapons, most of them with alternate fire mode: 1.: M16A2, alternate ironsight perfect aim 2.: M203 (M16A2's grenade launcher addon) 3.: Benelli shotgun 4.: PKM, alternate deploy on sandbags or whereever (perfect weapon to defend areas) 5.: SVD sniper rifle, alternate scope (enlightens area for you so you see till the end of a map) 6.: Mine, alternate kamikaze mine (push the trigger in your hands and explode yourself) 7.: 88FLAK Cannon grenade launcher and alternate direct shot 8.: Flamethrower (missing alternate for now) Instead of medpacks you can pick up from the floor you have to use bandages, which also are able to stop you from bleeding. Inventory: Bandages (stop you from bleeding and heal you) Defuse kit (4 charges of disarming mines faster) Parachute All TC features summarised: - 9 different maps - 8 weapons - hitbox system and locational damage (shoot off any part you want) - 3 inventory items - highres textures and models - 3 new multiplayer game modes Here are some screenshots now and download link at the bottom: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() click here for more screenshots or download the TC from my site. I finished a new map today. It takes place in a snow style ambience (some kinda russian city) so you can expect a multiplayer update soon after I fixed some balance related things to the mod.

I would rethink the whole Normandy thing.
I have never played a good Normandy map ever. The worst by far was in WW2GI, and honestly, yours isn't much better. And it's not about the level construction, but rather (mostly) about the nature of Normandy. The odds of surviving the invasion of Normandy were not good. Life isn't fair, and war isn't fair, but a game--if it's to be fun--has to have some glint of fairness about it. Making the player run through a field getting shot at by enemies he cannot see, where he could be blown up seemingly randomly at any time, and where the enemies on the ground can take a whole clip of bullets without so much as stumbling, is far from fair, and therefore, far from fun. Looking forward to further developments. |

this was because at that moment i was still uploading 2.00f
![]() it should work now. But I found a few bugs today, some maps dont start, one map is missing a CTF flag and the flak is too overpowered ![]() so i suggest you if you want to play the current version take episode 2, level 3 (Overtake) this one is balanced and working fine. |

I made a small update, it fixes 2 map bugs and some balance related things. Its only about the size of 100kbs, just download and extract it directly in eduke32 root folder.

How do you install this correctly to work with high res graphics, i keep getting duke graphics. the screenshots obviously show way better graphics, i dont think im installing this right, is there a readme im missing somewhere, i dont see one. im using the eduke port and dukearmy2_03d.zip. thanks

Have you placed dukearmy2_03d.zip in your autoload folder inside your Duke Army Directory? Your not ment to unzip the files. And all small map updates ect he has been releasing ive just been adding them to that zip.

This is what ive done, first i made a clean install of eduke the newest version, and duke 3d 1.5. copied the duke 3d 1.5 contents to the new eduke folder. Then made a Eduke Shortcut with just the commands /xassault.con /gdukearmy.grp. then i extracted duke army 1.0 and put it in the root of the eduke folder. Then i made a Autoload folder in it, and put the dukearmy2_03d.zip unextracted. It still doesn't work, what am i missing please?

you have eduke32.exe?
if so just put the dukearmy zip file in your autoload/duke3d.grp/ folder und start eduke32.exe btw I uploaded a new version, 2.04: http://hosted.filefront.com/kenia43 ---------------------------------- Duke Nukem Army (2.04) ---------------------------------- Changes: - changed team brown to team red for better visual contrast to the green team - auto aim is now complete disabled - lowered shotgun strength - you dont have the M203 at startup, but you can earn it when enraging Bugfixes: - fixed a spawn bug when playing deathmatch - fixed some map related spawn bugs - rage meter should work now properly - death match isnt consuming team soldier lives anymore |

I did exactly as The Commander said, it still is not working. i have the newest eduke. although im using the zip of eduke not the installer but that shouldn't be a problem. (http://www.eduke32.com/downloads) im using the windows zip one, i just unzip eduke into a dukearmy folder (a new one), put DUKE3D.GRP in that folder, D:\DukeArmy, where the eduke32.exe is ect. then in that same folder make a new folder called autoload, D:\DukeArmy\Autoload then i throw dukearmy2_04.zip into it load eduke32 from the root folder (D:\DukeArmy), and it still doesn't work. thanks
Ok i managed to get it to work now, i had to make a shortcut of eduke32 and add the command /g/Autoload/dukearmy2_04.zip, but you guys said it should work with no shortcuts lol. but yah its working with high res textures now.

Today I completed a new normandy map (which is looking far better than the old one). But, the new one is considered to be a multiplayer map. I will post a few screens after Im done with everything.

Nice mod!
1. Why is it that if you use the parachute whilst on the ground you can propel yourself several dozen feet into the sky? 2. http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8674/problemfb5.jpg I get this all the time. Perhaps it has something to do with me running on a widescreen resolution? (1440 x 900) 3. There's nothing in the readme file about the keyboard controls...as far as I can see anyway. In particular, I do not know how to access/setup the alternate fire key/feature. Apart from these minor issues, this is a fantastic mod!

I told him about the parachute bug a while ago. I guess he hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet. I think he can just check ifp ponground and not allow the parachute to activate in that case.

1.: yeh i know dt you already told me about that, but I was not able to reproduce it, but I will keep an eye on it again.
to point 2: I think its an eduke32 related bug, Im using the same texture size as in HRP pack for the hud 3: I will make an update after the new normandy map and assault mode is done and rename the keyboard controls in the setup. thanks for your feedback! |

ah and another thing: there are still 3 map bugs for multiplayer games which I wasnt able to fix. d-day map, surrounded and desert rage wont start, and I have no clue how to fix it. Just to let you know that Im aware of this bug and hope I can fix it soon, cause at the moment at least for me I get bored playing always the same maps.
Anyone of you who wants to play dukearmy online, I make quite frequent 2on2 sessions with dukonnector with some friends. So if you have the newest version of dukearmy installed you are welcome and invited to join ![]() |

Last 2 days I reworked a little bit the singleplayer mode. I adjusted the new normandy map, some code of the enemy AI and its now alot better playable than the last normandy map. Just check it out, and like always: if you are able to complete the map in impossible mode you are a shooter god

I cannot prevent anyone from taking art, maps, con code or whatever from it to use it in their TC, but it would be nice if you give me credits for it.
and btw I uploaded a new version, the first map is now fully playable in singleplayer mode. There are 3 different enemies: normal soldiers, tank, apache helicopter. Try it in impossible ![]() |

best so far was clearing the whole beach, all in all I killed 2 tanks, 2 choppers and alot of enemy soldiers. Then I was out of ammo
