Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
Hey, i was thinken of doen the remake of plug'n pray episode 4 From the PSX version of duke nukem, but i dont know if its legal or not, although it wont feature any of the textures from the PSX version but i can do it to the best of my build abilities but if im not allowed to post it online then ill keep it to myself as a personal episode, i cant promise of it actually being made cause i have a crap load of time but i lack the motivation into actually remaken it

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
In a word, no. Several of the maps from Plug and Pray have been halted mid production in the past. It's not legal.
Though if you have so much free time and an urge to make maps, you should start on your own episode. You can certainly be inspired by Plug and Pray.

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
well plug'n and pray had to have been made on the PC and the layout had to have been the same as the original PC maps accept it was modified and ported to the PSX version, they probebly have the original layout of the maps somewhere, but impossible to try and get ahold of them...

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
3DRealms didnt make the new maps.
Remaking the maps and art by hand is in no way illegal.

Which is practically impossible, unless you traced them.

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
well, i dont trace i have like 5 copies of the DN total meltdown and id only use 1 for the level maken basicly, i trace from the level when the game is runnen and if i get done with it i go to the next the reason for me having so many copies is because i like to do link to link PS1 MultiPlay, but as far as i know remaking isnt illegal BUT i cant mark the maps to make sure thier in my design would that be legal?

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
I've tried extracting the maps from PSX Duke but they seem to be compressed or encrypted. The art tiles are in another format entirely. Some kind of automated converter could theoretically bypass any legality issues but it would require some reverse engineering.

Kind of OT, but have any of you ever noticed that the Total Meltdown disc holds a fifth episode?

Re: Plug'n Pray Remake for PC?
Good luck with that.
You'd have to write that program by hand.

Yep, and the extra art and sounds may be pretty useful for modders.

And NOT everyone who played PC version have the PSX version of DN3D. So it would make any damn sense.
