Error when playing mods on a fresh Copy of Max Payne 2
Hey guys,

Just installed a fresh copy of max payne 2 on my machine and installed the elements of style mod.

Upon launching I get this error:

Exception in engineInit:Unable to load save game "Games\Max". File does not exist or it is not a valid savegame file.

What does this mean?

I'm running an AMD64 dual core 2Ghz, 2GB Ram, ATI x1650, WINXP x64 (x86).

Ok sounds like it needs a save game to work or something.

Play the normal game without mods for a bit then save the game. That should fix it.

Are you trying to load a save game that you made with the original game, with the EoS mod?

If you're not, you should try adding -developer to the shortcut target. I've personally never seen the error in that way, though.

Tried that. Still the same error.

It won't even launch the vanilla game, much less any save games.

I contacted support and they just told me to clear my msconfig, but its already clear.
