What do we really expect from this?

Do we really expect Duke Nukem Forever to be the best thing since sliced bread?. I mean it would be a huge boost for 3DR if it was. We all have high expectations for this game considering the money spent and development time. I have got my fingers crossed that is isn't a bland, repetitive FPS with a predictable plot and gameplay. Just dont be dissapointed if DNF falls under your expectations (If it is ever released that is).

PS I will wait forever just to see if i am wrong (and hopefully i am).

I expect it to, assuming it will come out and does in fact exist at some point in time, be a pretty awesome game. Even if it follows the old Duke Nukem speele, I think it would be a fun game. Will it be worth the wait? Hell no.

i expect the sequel to Duke Nukem 3D. I don't expect something to shake the earth.. I expect a first person shooter video game, starring Duke Nukem, that continues the story onward from Duke Nukem 3D.

A project failing to meet the expectations of its consumers is not something I'd look at as funny. That seems to be kicking someone while they're down. Critics and reviews will undoubtedly let the devs know whether the game was made well or not, laughing at someones misfortunes is childish.

It best be one of the best video games ever created, If it's not worth the 12 years of waiting expect a lot of laughing and pointing at the people who took 12 years to create a game and it still sucks. Right now Duke is only liked by his fans (even now the number is shrinking), to the rest of the gaming industry is he just one big long joke.

I'm not expecting a miracle but i dont want to spend $100 (games in australia are expensive) on a game with dull graphics, hollow storyline and absolutely no replay factor.

eg doom 3. original is an all time classic but doom 3 could have been better.

once again i hope i am wrong and is the best thing since sliced bred

No no no no!

The movie is a 3 hour long montage of George playing poker and WoW and the all the employees polishing thier portfolios and playing WoW. There is a breif section with several employees gathered around a computer reading posts in this forum. There is much chuckling and cries of "Yeah, what a bunch of a**holes!".

Suddenly, just before the end. George looks at his watch and nearly falls out of his chair "Christ, its been 12 years!! OMGBBQELEVEN!!! We'd better get our fingers out our ass and get this game done!" George turns to the staff and rousingly says "Come on, let's show them how Duke really kicks ass!". All the employess quit out of thier WoW sessions and start producing kick-ass game material. Stiring music rises on the soundtrack as the game starts to come together.

Just then, all the lights go out and the monitors go dark all the PC fans whirr to a silent halt, leaving the screen black. There is momentary pause.

George's voice is head on the soundtrack "F*CK!!!!"

Roll Credits.

Exactly.

The way I look at it is like this. ..when DUKE Nukem 3D hit xboxlive, people went nuts for the game even though it's got bad graphics by todays standard, tiny levels, sprites instead of 3d enemies, and so on, because the game had everything people want. Fast paced gameplay, witty humor, awesome weapons, lots of destruction and naked women!

As long as the new game keeps all the great thigns from the first game, but adds way better graphics, more epic bossfights, larger levels, and gorgeous 3D strippers, that game is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Seriously, what could be better then Duke Nukem 3D in total 3D?

It's going to be awesome, of that I have no doubt. Will it be the cure for cancer, hell no. . ..but it will certainly entertain!

I don't know about that. . .i played Doom3 at least 7 times over because I enjoyed the atmosphere so much.

Making levels is easy I know (SDK Hammer Editor ) it's the hard work going to put it all together that is the bad part, but when your finished. Then you get your healthy eating food not junk food.
