Re: How do you use command lines?
Chill for a sec man and let me explain.
1. on the main windows desktop you should see the max Payne icon(if not create a new shortcut to the max Payne .exe) right click on the max Payne icon and a drop down menu appears select properties. 2. in the main window look at the shortcut to the game it will say something like c rogramfiles\remedy\maxpayne\maxpayne.exe and on the end of the max payne.exe add -developer so it should now read c rogramfiles\remedy\maxpayne\maxpayne.exe -developer. click apply and ok. 3. start the game with the shortcut and press ` in game. and type the following: - god (/mortaltrue)<<<<----(important type as seen) when you type this you will still take damage but will not die also use this to replenish your health. getallweapons <---- speaks for its self. there is more and I am sure you will have no problems finding them. is this what you were looking for.???? Re: How do you use command lines?
Not really a solution for your probllem, but it explains your "not showing .exe problem":
Your explorer is probably not showing all file extensions. That's why it says maxpayne and not maxpayne.exe. To show the extentions: Go to folder options -> view and then uncheck "Hide file extentions for known file types" |

Re: How do you use command lines?
There's another thing you can do. You can go to the start menu on the desktop. Then go to programs, go to remedy, and max payne (or whatever folder you installed it under. And it'll have a list under max payne - it says Max Payne, uninstall, MAX ED, ActorFX, view Readme, etc. Right-click on the Max Payne. A list comes up. At the very bottom of the list it says Properties. Left-click on that. Then, it will bring up a little menu-interface thing that says info on the game. There is a line of text after in the Target line. Click on that text, and move the cursor to the end, where it says .exe. Have one space after it, and type -developer. Then, highlight the whole text, click Apply, and Close. Now, Left-click on where it says Max Payne. The game will start up with the console. Now, to be able to use it, you can never play the game from the CD menu. When you put that CD in, you MUST exit out of the CD menu. You have to start the game from the shortcut or from the start menu to use the console.
Ok, now that I've provided a nice long explanation, maybe now someone can tell me how the HECK to make mods work! I've installed in the dang root directory! But that thing at the little gray menu that says "Choose customized game" has nothing in it. SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!!
